Have you tried filing a mail fraud report with USPS, an internet fraud report at ic3.gov, fraud report with the perp's police dept. and a fraud report to your own police dept?    Then call ebay CS with those report numbers and ask for the case to be closed in your favor.   I have heard that this approach can work.

Thanks.  I haven't done that.  It's still under review. I can't do anything else at the moment.

What is this so called "Reset" that the customer service reps say they are going to do when you call and ask about no sales? I have been told this 3 times already by the reps. and they tell say it will increase your sales. Well, went 14 days without a sale after this so called "Reset".

Is this just their way of getting you off the phone, because they have no real answer?

Please explain.

Thank you

Hi @greg213213, can you provide me with the date and times of these calls? I'd like to look further into these conversations for appropriate coaching as I'm concerned there may be a misunderstanding on the agent's part; while we are able to administratively "refresh" a member's store to push through any edits or revisions to listings that have not processed properly, or as a troubleshooting step for some rare vacation setting issues, this is not something that works in every situation and should not be viewed as something that will result in a boost in sales or visibility. Barring any seasonal items or external influences such as increased competition or supply, the most important steps a seller can take to improve their sales are related to making improvements to their listings overall.

I can clarify, we do not have a button or process on our end that controls a seller's sales volume. Customer Service cannot take an action that will result in increased sales or visibility for a seller. What we can do is offer suggestions on improving listings, offering various services that promote engagement from your buyers (such as free returns, free shipping, more/improved item specifics, etc.), and ensure there are no issues with your listings that would be preventing visibility (shipping options set up incorrectly, violations of eBay policy, etc.).

The topic of an account "refresh" is something that I've seen arise from time to time, and I can assure you that we've taken steps to address this within our Customer Service organization - if you have any recent examples of this kind of information being communicated to you, please let me know the details so I can address this with those agents and prevent any further confusion.

Hi there,

Here's an easy one for you (I hope!). Or at least light-hearted 🙂

In creating a variation listing, if you make a typo on an option that is not a spelling  error, is there a way to correct it?

My issue - sometimes I type the 2nd letter before letting up on the shift - so I get BLue instead of Blue.  If I remove the offending option from the 'selected' options, it is still in the available options.  Since it is not misspelled, I can't add it again with the case corrected - it is seen as already existing.

Is there a way to delete the option from the available list (on the left) so I can add it again, case corrected?

thanks!

Sue

Hi @wooden_flower - That's a tricky one! I think, once live, there isn't an easy way to get that edited. Do you happen to have the item number to share so I can do some tinkering?

Thank you Tyler.  333309168177 & 333325824403 - Denim BLue.

I can live with it, but I'd rather fix it, if I can 🙂

I don't think that seeking outside sources to resolve this issue is a bad idea, but I think the point is that with the evidence this seller has, why isn't Ebay backing the seller?  Why is Ebay suggesting that do the 50% refund so that you only are OUT 50% of the product?  Why is the seller left to PAY the buyer for bad behavior as is clear from the evidence provided?  Why does Ebay turn a blind eye to it?

I had the chance to post 200 extra listings last week. I noticed:
- listings for multiple items went away when one was sold (they used to stay up until all were sold)
- two items claimed I had stopped them for "item not available" (I did not)
- two more items (in addition to the three I reported before) were on both Active and Unsold/not Relisted pages

What is going on? This never used to happen.

Hi @vrykalak, we're happy to look into this for you. However, we need you to provide us with item numbers if you are reporting issues related to specific items. Thanks!

- listings for multiple items went away when one was sold (they used to stay up until all were sold) - The two I noticed were: 383153506616, 383150068873
- two items claimed I had stopped them for "item not available" (I did not) - I don't offhand recall those. I can figure them out with a little research
- two more items (in addition to the three I reported before) were on both Active and Unsold/not Relisted pages - there are four more, actually:  383097838840, 383097838840, 383097843239, 383097843832

- and there's one that has been in the Unsold/Not Relisted for a couple of months now, which was sold earlier this year: 383032920866

Under the fall "seller protection", are we covered from negative/neutral feedback if a buyer chooses not to send an item back using free seller returns?

I have "buyers" that use freight forward services and buyers here in the U.S. that will message stating an item isn't as described. No worries, I offer free seller returns. I tell the buyer, please open a return request so I can send you a free return label for a full refund. Buyer messages back, I can't I'm not in the U.S. or for those that are in the U.S. "I'm too busy, just send me a partial refund" or they don't respond at all. I say, "no can do until I get the item back". (Not in those words, but you get the jest). They decide to leave negative feedback because they didn't get "their way". Will eBay remove that negative/neutral feedback? Again, 30-day, free returns offered.

Hi @chasearooauctions, the enhanced protections announced at eBay Open for Top Rated Sellers are specific to false Not As Described returns and returns where a buyer used or damaged the item. If a seller receives a return and finds the buyer stated a false SNAD or that the buyer used/damaged the item, that seller is eligible for the enhanced protections (which includes removal of negative / neutral feedback) if they give a full or less than full refund. If a buyer does not return the item then these protections would not apply.

Sellers that offer free returns are also eligible for enhanced protections, such as feedback removal, if the buyer returns the item in a used or damaged condition and the seller issues a less than full refund due to the altered condition of the item. The item does have to be returned for these protections to apply.

@vrykalak, I posted this answer to you on that chat. Your listings do have issues with outside links (and other issues) that should be fixed.

eBay has suddenly decided that five of my listings have external links. They don't. These same listings gave been posted many times, with NO changes. and never had a problem before.
This happened several months ago with a listing that included the words "befuddled expression like Kermit"

I realized that eBay was objecting to the word "Kermit" because that is the name of a piece of software. I pointed out that the reference could not be to the software unless it was followed by "(K_" which it wasn't. The algorithm was not interested. I had to removed "like Kermit" to satisfy the algorithm.
With these current five items, I have to insight like that. So eBay will remove these 5 listings, and slap me on the wrist, for non-existent external references.

Could you please pass along to the PTB:
- if a link is suspected, tell the seller what it is
- be willing to acknowledge that it is NOT a link when proof is provided

You can use this tool to bulk scan your listings, find issues like this, and find out how to fix them. Tool provided by the Community's own @shipscript, eBay Hall of Fame winner.

Here's an example of one of your listings (found through the tool above) which has two non-eBay links in the HTML code. (I did a quick scan of the listing, and couldn't find the links, so they may not be displaying in the description for some reason, but they still show up in the scan, and need to be removed.)

Yes. And if this isn't resolved in our favor, we will lose $95 on this transaction.

Update [14Sep]:
I relisted all five of those items.
Now only two of them claim to have outside links
383151762628
383151762405
The other three apparently got "fixed" while sitting in the Unsold list
...just as all five got "broken" while sitting in the Unsold list last month.

Hi @vrykalak - were you able to review those items with the tools that @lacemaker3 suggested on the 11th? @shipscript created something that can quickly scan your items and let you know which ones we would have issue with. Thanks!

Re: Community Chat, September 25 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

Hi, Can I please get some help with a issue plaguing my account. Since last Thursday night my account has been CHARGING me a 30 cent DESIGNER LISTING fee when using BULK RELIST. I have reported this to CS and it still has not been fixed. This is getting beyond frustrating because the only way around these charges are to use SELL SIMILAR one listing at a time which is very time consuming. This problem was reported in the past and has affected my account before and it still has not been fixed. The listing DESIGNER has been RETIRED, and is not even a option any more and it WAS ALWAYS FREE when you subscribed to a store which I always have. PLEASE pass this on to the proper IT people and help get this fixed for me. It has fallen on deaf ears over the last 6 days and has been reported multiple times. Thank you

Thank you for the reply.

I do not have the exact dates and times, but this was in the last 45 days. This was 3 different agents that did this so called "Reset". But yet each one also stated that everything is functioning properly in my store. So in general, I guess that what they are telling us sellers is a "white wash" scenario to get us off the phone and not offering anything else or transferring us to someone who may help.

I have seen others post this same thing on the boards about being told the same thing.

I have been selling here for almost 16 years and I never have been told this false info prior to the last couple of months, regarding "Reset".

Re: Community Chat, September 25 @ 1:00 pm PT - General Topics

Correct. I had received a different phone back. CS told me to offer a partial refund. Once the case close I could call back and appeal. Not true. Once the case closed, they denied the appeal. I had a similar case where I didn't close the case and waited for eBay to close it. (I was told that by a CS rep). Once that case closed they denied the appeal because, even though I sent them pictures, they couldn't confirm that the pictures were the fault of the buyer... True story. By the way, the first buyer had 2 feedback, once he got his refund from eBay he closed his account.

Because eBay can't see what was sent or returned, so the SELLER is wrong automatically. eBay has taken it upon themselves to take the decision making away from you in your business. "The buyer is always right" has been a thing of the past for a LONG time, but not here on eBay.

In this case you have an independent 3rd party that has given a written statement.
