Hi Sellers,
As the holiday season approaches, we know you are looking to optimize performance in any way you can. To help with these efforts, eBay has launched the Volume Pricing tool. This tool enables promotional discounts for buyers that purchase two or more of the same item. Those that have taken advantage of this new capability have already driven significant increases to order size. In some cases, where sellers have been able to offer combined shipping, sales margin has also seen an improvement.
So how can you take advantage? Sellers can begin incentivizing buyers to purchase in greater quantities today. The Volume Pricing tool can be accessed via the marketing tab in Seller Hub.
To make things even sweeter, we are running a *promotion (through November 22nd) for sellers that enable volume pricing discounts on their listings. For every incremental purchase made through volume pricing, we will give you a 50% discount on final value fees.
Join the conversation below from 1-2 pm Pacific on Oct. 31st. We would love to hear about how you plan to incorporate Volume Pricing discounts into your strategy this holiday season.
Thank you!

Here is one of mine that still has the "amount" discount on it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/263939570157
Yours presents quite differently than mine. Do you know why?
I like that list view a lot better. It's easier to read!
Amazon has the boxy view and I always hated it.
Funny, I like how it appears on my listings better I just wish the percentage showed too. It is just personal preference.

I was told to come here today to get help. I would really appreciate knowing what the issue is and what to do about it:Bulk savings:Buy 1$4.99/eaBuy 2$4.79/eaBuy 3$4.59/eaYou may want to check how your sale is set up. If the SKU box is checked and you are using item numbers, or the other way around, that could be your problem. That is the mistake I made.
And since we can't edit, you will have to delete it and do it again, however you can cut and paste the item numbers.
I made that same mistake. That's why I posted feedback that it should default to item # instead of SKU.
The other thing to check is if you're adding variation listings. Those aren't supported yet so you won't see the promo appear.

I havent done the volume pricing discount , because i found it tricky or hard to understand. but i am definitively giving it a try. i was afraid I did it all wrong and sell my items at a lost. is there a button or place where it will show you how they will look before (I . click accept/ or go live?)
Hi angiesgreengosurplus,
Currently there is no preview functionality. I'll pass the request on to the team and see what we might be able to roll out as part of our 2019 plan.
Thanks.

What happens if we already have the item in a promotion and we add volume pricing?

Alan, The builder tool also need to have an edit feature. As we add new items, we would like to include them in a promo that is already running. There is no way of editing currently, so we just have to add an additional promo. Over time, I will have multiple promos doing the same thing. It is more work and unweildy.
Not only to add new items, but also to remove existing items or change the end date as we can with other promos.
Great callouts. I will share these with our product team.
Thanks.

I did pause and start over. First did ith SKU and that as the box I checked. Then I did it 3 more times. Still didn't work. Then I did it with item numbers and checked that box - still no luck.
I too had some hickups when I did mine the first time. I don't know which mistake I was making, but clearly I was making some mistake. I deleted all them, then did a new one making sure my Item # box was checked and now it is working fine. Missing a couple listing, but that may have been pilot error.

Does the sale + markdown feature recognize items that are part of a volume discount promotion and exclude them?

We're closing the thread for new questions as the hour is up. Chris/ @long_live_the_seller is sticking around to work through all the questions. Thanks again for your engagement and excitement for the tool. We'll do this again soon if you have more questions.

Hi alan@ebay and team! Thanks for this opportunity to ask a few questions about the new Volume Pricing Discount.
- When VPD was originally rolled-out it was supported via csv file upload
QUESTION: Could the .csv file upload capability be reopened? The new UI looks great, but it’s already missing functionality.- The original launch included amount pricing discounts in addition to percentage discounts.
QUESTION: Will the amount discounts soon be reinstated?- When volume discounts are applied to an item, the discount (last I checked) does not appear in search results.
QUESTION: Will search teasers be implemented so buyers will be notified in search before clicking through to the item?- Volume pricing discounts don’t show in store home pages.
QUESTION: Will store home pages feature volume discounts (and other promotions)? This seems like a significant missing feature functionality. I am trying to drive traffic to my store page through social media but no visitor will know I am running any promotions without it displaying on my store page.

We currently don't have plans to reinstate/expand upon the .csv portal that we started out with, but agree that the flexibility could be important to certain selling situations. I will share your thoughts with the team.
QUESTION: Will the amount discounts soon be reinstated?
Similar to the first question, we are looking to expand upon current functionality where it makes sense. I think amount based promotions do. I'll see what we can do to accomodate this.
QUESTION: Will search teasers be implemented so buyers will be notified in search before clicking through to the item?
This is something we are currently looking into.

We have had some conversation about this already. I'd like to see a treatement in stores to hightlight the great value being offered. I will share your comments to further the discussion.
Thanks.

When this is expanded to include variations there shouldn't be a restriction that each variation has to be multi quantity. The fact that it's including multiple variations should meet the quantity requirement. Is this how you're setting it up?
This will likely be the treatment. We will share more as design and functionality are finalized.
Thanks.

Generally, the best promotion will be applied. The exception being with Volume Pricing and Shipping promtions. These promotions can combine.
In terms of display priority, Volume Pricing will be displayed on the View Item page ahead of promotions like order discounts, sales and markdown, and shipping discounts.
Thanks.

Also, a number of folks have asked what the Volume Pricing treatment looks like. This should give you an idea of how it appears on a listing.
Thanks.
