Hi Sellers, 

As the holiday season approaches, we know you are looking to optimize performance in any way you can. To help with these efforts, eBay has launched the Volume Pricing tool.  This tool enables promotional discounts for buyers that purchase two or more of the same item.  Those that have taken advantage of this new capability have already driven significant increases to order size.  In some cases, where sellers have been able to offer combined shipping, sales margin has also seen an improvement.

So how can you take advantage? Sellers can begin incentivizing buyers to purchase in greater quantities today. The Volume Pricing tool can be accessed via the marketing tab in Seller Hub.

To make things even sweeter, we are running a *promotion (through November 22nd) for sellers that enable volume pricing discounts on their listings.  For every incremental purchase made through volume pricing, we will give you a 50% discount on final value fees.

Thank you. Please make a note in the builder tool so that others do not pull their hair out and tie up your support call center trying to figure this out.
Also, we need to be able to build our own qty levels for the discounts. It would be nice to add more qty levels as well.

Currently the tool is not compatible with variations.  We know that variations stand to benefit greatly from volume pricing and are working hard on a solution.  This should be available early next year.

While I'm certainly happy to hear this I can't help but be a little disappointed that we won't have it for the holiday season.

I have tried 5 times to set up a volume pricing discount.  Except for one line on the listing above the first photo that says "save with volume pricing " there is no way to let the buyer know what the discount is and on what items.   Without letting the buyer know what it is, it is worthless.  I have spoken to two agents and no one seems to know what the problem is or how to solve it.

Alan, It also seems that some sellers are able to still sell at various qtys and discounts due to the original method of volume discounts, ie the csv file loader from a couple months ago. Does not seem fair that their items still work when new items will not work.

I havent done the volume pricing discount , because i found it tricky or hard to understand. but i am definitively giving it a try. i was afraid I did it all wrong and sell my items at a lost. is there a button or place where it will show you how they will look before (I . click accept/ or go live?)

Alan, The builder tool also need to have an edit feature. As we add new items, we would like to include them in a promo that is already running. There is no way of editing currently, so we just have to add an additional promo. Over time, I will have multiple promos doing the same thing. It is more work and unweildy.

Not only to add new items, but also to remove existing items or change the end date as we can with other promos.

That's a good question. Most promos - not just volume discount - are not shown on mobile. I would love to see that change.

Yes.  All eBay platform experiences will be supported soon.

4) Will there be a display of 'Offer names' that are currently running?

Yes. The current functionality allows you to specify a name for each offer you create and manage these offers from the 'Manage Promotions' page.

5) Will there be an option to 'End' an offer?

Yes. Similarly to other offers you create through Promotions Manager, Volume Pricing offers can be ended from the 'Manage Promotions' page in eBay Seller Hub.

6) Any plans to provide a $-off type of option, instead of the percentage option?

We are always looking to expand functionality.  I will pass this request on to the team.

Slightly on / slightly off topic. This is a general request regarding the Promotions Manager page.

Each promo has a little check box next to it but there are no buttons at the top to delete, pause, or perform other functions. The check boxes basically do nothing. Can buttons be added so we can perform actions to all checked items?

We are targeting the first part of next year for variations and will update the community when we have landed on an exact date.

I appreciate the feedback around disclosing current variation capabilities.  I will have the team begin working on an update to address the point of confusion.

Hi alan@ebay and team! Thanks for this opportunity to ask a few questions about the new Volume Pricing Discount.

1. When VPD was originally rolled-out it was supported via csv file upload
   QUESTION: Could the .csv file upload capability be reopened? The new UI looks great, but it’s already missing functionality.
2. The original launch included amount pricing discounts in addition to percentage discounts.
   QUESTION: Will the amount discounts soon be reinstated?
3. When volume discounts are applied to an item, the discount (last I checked) does not appear in search results.
   QUESTION: Will search teasers be implemented so buyers will be notified in search before clicking through to the item?
4. Volume pricing discounts don’t show in store home pages.
   QUESTION: Will store home pages feature volume discounts (and other promotions)? This seems like a significant missing feature functionality. I am trying to drive traffic to my store page through social media but no visitor will know I am running any promotions without it displaying on my store page.
