The chat thread will remain open until 2 PM PT at which point we'll close it from additional responses. After that time, we'll continue to work on responding to any queries that might still be unanswered.

To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, type your question, and hit submit between 1-2 PM Pacific Time. The format of our chat mirrors the format of our Community Discussion Boards, where each post will appear in the thread chronologically. The Community Team will review each question as it comes in, and will quote the original question in our reply. I've brought this up before. We know ebay has been working on making changes to store designs , adding video capabilities, and so forth. Any timeline for when these changes will go live? I'm hoping before we are in Q4?

Tyler ... ok, regarding the new program to eliminate counterfeit bags/purses, HOW was this able to be an Ebay sponsored ad ??????????????   Soooo obvious counterfeit Louis Vuitton purses !!!!!!!!  ?????  Just wondering.  And if you hovered over the link in the "sponsored" ad, it wasn't even Macy's ...              Tammy

Hi @b4b4b4b - did you see that ad on eBay or on a different website? I only ask because that formatting looks more akin to a Facebook or Instagram post.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Sorry with me entering all these posts.  I'm sure I will be 99% done after today, the first time I have posted in this "chat."

I have been with Ebay about 20 years.  I soooo appreciate Ebay SELLERS and I so dislike what they have to go through (no details) ... I have off and on read the forums for so many years.

Why does Ebay expect people here to report ie Funko products ??     I mean Ebay, when things appeared in the news had no trouble removing 9/11 debris (ok sad example but yeah it happened), Confederate related items ie flags, etc., certain Dr. Seuss books  ......... and Covid items, ie hand sanitizer etc etc.    I am NOOOOOOO computer expert but no doubt your computers with very little program can instantly pull up listings with certain key word(s).    How about doing the same thing with Funko ???    I mean geez, if buyer(s) buy this Funko "stuff" before someone reports a listing, and never gets it, will Ebay refund them ???? That question wasn't answered.

OK I'm out.  I will see myself out today !!

On the subject of repetitive posts, I'm amazed by the recent flood of misinformation and paranoia being posted about Managed Payments. It's easy to get annoyed with sellers who haven't informed themselves about a program that started  2-3 years ago, but part of this problem stems from eBay's horrible rollout of MP. The poor communication, lack of transparency, and difficulties with getting customer support have all created a gap where rumors and wild theories can flourish.

I see many posters on  the selling board patiently trying to provide responsible information to sellers who are freaked out about joining MP. My question is, why hasn't eBay stepped up to help? Why not have knowledgeable reps come on the boards regularly to respond to some of the questions? At the very least, why not make information about Managed Payments easily accessible from the selling board?

@creativecrisis

I'm going to jump in here on this one so you get the point of view of someone that is out there a lot trying to provide the correct information to other sellers.

The reason you see this being a continuing problem and the same questions getting asked over and over and over again.  Never really seeing an end to it.  Is because of how Ebay in onboarding sellers.  Since July of last year they have been doing this in groups every month.

So that is why there are some really long threads on this subject.  Starting last summer.  Then the new batch of sellers get their notifications of time to move into MP and the cycle starts all over again.  You get through those for the most part and then the next group of sellers get notified and it starts all over again.

Then there are some posters, most of which have never even used MP that has taken it on as a mission to discredit MP and/or Ebay.  They stick around for months before they give up and go away.  But when they do someone else takes over it seems.

As to customer service on MP.  OMG there is a battle I have been up front with Ebay management and the team on this Weekly chat are very familiar with my opinions of the LACK of customer service.  It is a problem that is more than a year old.  They continue to say all the time they are aware of the issues and are working to resolve them.  Yet we are in worse position today than we were last year.

I personally have put a whole lot of effort into resolving this issue but Ebay clearly doesn't see it the same way we do.  By their lack of action they clearly feel that nothing needs to change.  So many sellers have been hurt and will continue to be hurt because of this position Ebay has taken on this matter.

I could go on and on an on about this subject.  But I'll stop there.  However just one more thing.  The team here on this Chat are fantastic.  They do what they can to help, but Ebay limits them to what they can do with MP issues.  That is NOT the teams fault, it is the fault of the powers within the MP program.

At this link https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4822#section2

The total amount of the sale includes the item price, any handling charges, the shipping service the buyer selects, sales tax, and any other applicable fees. If you offer 1-day or international shipping as well as a cheaper or free option (like domestic shipping), the total amount of the sale is calculated based on the cheapest domestic option you offer. If you only offer 1-day or international shipping but no cheaper option like domestic shipping, the total amount of the sale is calculated based on the service the buyer chooses.

At this link: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4364&st=12&pos=1&query=Selli...

 is says

This fee is calculated as a percentage of the total amount of the sale. The total amount of the sale includes the item price, and any shipping and handling charges. Sales tax isn't included in the calculation.

I understand that one is probably for people not yet on MP but when you search final value fees in help how would you know that???

Kinda confusing. Agree?

Tyler, Well, I'll keep hoping. There's a lot of vintage "adult" stuff that , in today's world, is pretty tame, but it is collectible. A lot of sellers would like to continue selling it here, but I suspect ebay is driving away some stuff that probably qualifies as permissible....that could be avoided with a little help from the team...

Did I see it actually on Facebook or Instagram post ?

LOL. I said Ebay, didn't I ??

And no, I'm not doing anything else about it.  You all can leave it, figure it out, whatever you would like to do.

Why do I get constant HTML error and then post flooding?

@papermoney1948 - I'm sorry to hear you've been running into that. Khoros has identified this is a bug on their side and a fix is going to be implemented. We don't have a specific date for when the fix is going to roll out because it depends on some internal things for Khoros, but it is coming.

FYI, we still can't cut and paste from Ebay policy pages.  We haven't been able to do that for oh, getting closer and closer to a year, maybe even longer.

Don't know if you all saw this discussion

Seems like some eBay information on this topic (if it doesn't already exist) could be good.

Why when Ebay forces us to open a 2nd account to be paid in 2 currencies and gives us a whopping 10 items to be able to list when our main account is on MP and has been around for 20+ years?

@papermoney1948 - Every new account starts with lower limits for security reasons, but you can contact our limits team here to see about linking it to your older one to get them raised.

Just my two cents as I've been a Mentor for quite a while now.  The team here, fondly known as the Chat Team have ALWAYS treated mentors with respect and are always willing to lend us a helping hand when we need it.

But being valued by Ebay as a company.  I can't say that has been a thing in the past.  Last year I was sent some goodies from Ebay and that is the FIRST time in all my years as a mentor that I received something from Ebay.

Tyler once had Ebay send be a backpack and I've put that to good use.

The team here recognizes our efforts, but Ebay as a company, not so much.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with you mam about the mentors who have taken their personal time out to answer posts, which, of course is part of the meaning of being a mentor.

I rec'd those gifts too! And thought, how nice to be appreciated 😍

(still not sure what to do with those gigantic dominos, any suggestions?) LOL

We here in the Community, especially those such as you who have persevered all these years helping others is what gives eBay a Heart and Soul.

As a business, eBay obviously has to make $$ so we can all be here to work, sell and or buy, but when they did that eBay employees purge some years back, it was worrisome bc a lot of those employees were like us, long haulers with mega knowledge.

I do hope they give us mentors that concierge service.

And remember when eBay had a TRS dedicated department with its own phone number to call for our 'situations'?

Hello,

Last week, I asked the following question and received the reply shown below.

@kosmetik.karnival wrote:

PLEASE NOTE:  Off Topic

Can you please tell me how one would qualify for the Concierge Program and how one would obtain an invitation to join?

Thank you.

@kosmetik.karnival Thank you for your interest in this program!  Only customers who have been notified that they are included in eBay Concierge are eligible for this program at this time.  If your account becomes eligible for the program in the future, we would reach out directly to invite you.

=================================

My question this week is this:  How can I possibly strive to become involved with the Concierge program if I don't know the required qualifications?  This seems like a VERY worthwhile program and I would definitely like to become a part of it.  I am not trying to be rude, but I would very much like to know the answer.  I respectfully say that the response (above) to my question is just double talk.

I was also treated rudely by a customer service rep on CHAT when I asked the same questions.  That is what led me to post my question here in the first place.  I was told to "please cooperate" and they kept asking if I was "all clear".

I am only asking for a little transparency and fairness for all eBay members.

Thank you.

What can be done is using a screen capture program like Snagit to capture what you want from the screen 🙂

That is why the first link you gave says it is for MP sellers.  And the other does not.

It certainly can be confusing, but they policies are necessary as long as there are some in MP and some not in MP.  There are different rules in some cases, like this.  So it is a necessary thing right now.
