Hi,

I've just signed up for the upcoming managed payments system.

I noticed that I was only given the option to list one bank account.

Currently with PayPal, I can have my funds transferred to 2 separate accounts at different institutions.

Being limited to one account, is going to create a hardship for me as I will have to physically go to the banks to move money.

Did eBay consider this when they designed the new payment system? Are there other options that I'm missing?

Thank you!

Sugarcity Sales

Oh I hate that puzzle piece.  If you don't get it to land just right, you have to start all over again.

Can't you just hit the arrow. Don't remember, as I have not seen it lately, but a couple of weeks ago I had to keep doing it many times each day. Seems that just hitting the arrow worked. Of course even that gets annoying if it has to be done many, many times a day.

Tomorrow marks two weeks since some pretty significant issues in the community started after an update.  And in those two weeks, while lots of questions have been asked, we have gotten no updates at all that I've seen.

Can we get an update on what is going on please?

Hi @mam98031, I know that brian@ebay has been investigating issues and working with our third-party platform provider, Khoros, for fixes. He's provided updates as they have become available to our mentors, as most of our reports have come from this group. I can confirm that we'll work to resolve any outstanding technical problems as soon as possible!

Unless the bell is really messing up.  There hasn't been any updates on the Mentors board.  I've asked several times.  I will however go over there and look to see if I missed something.

Is there a way that I am not seeing to add a store category while in the middle of a listing and have it populate so that it can be selected without having to go back and edit the listing - wither through a saved draft or editing a live listing?

If not - is it something that can be looked into for future enhancements?

@glgenterprise there isn't an option to create a store category within the listing flow. It's something I can suggest

----

What I do is:
- save the listing to drafts
- go add the store category
- reload the store page (to "solidify" the new category)
- then go back and finish the listing
So far, that has worked for me

Oh no, not on that darn puzzle piece.  You have to drag it over there and make sure it gets placed just right.  At least that has been my experience.

Everyone has been holding their breath waiting to see what is going on with the coin and bullion categories regarding managed payments. Is ebay actively working to support those categories in managed payments or will they continue to use paypal indefinitely? Is there any definitive answer on whether ebay will keep these categories or will they at some point stop allowing us to sell coins and bullion and other products not allowed in managed payments?

Hi @gwzcomps - you're right that those are in place for security, but I'm not certain if there's a way to make them remember you for longer. Let me do some digging. I'll update you as I hear back!

I think I remember some feature for multi users on one account.  Can I just pretend I am 5 employees and make myself multiple users to reduce my login headaches?

I use ebay shipping for all of my accounts.

I have several pain points with the using the shipping.  While it is easy and actually works fine, there are a couple of things that cause me angst.

I ship the night before to have things ready to go in the morning.  For example, last night I printed labels post-dated to June 10.  But on the order details it clearly says You shipped this item on JUNE 9.

That is not accurate and portrays to the buyer that the seller is sitting on the package and not actually mailing it.

Why can't this program pull in the MAILING date that we use when we print the label.  In this case, I set all of my labels to June 10.

I also would like to point out that I would prefer ebay to not send the buyer the shipping notice until the actual ship date, as this can also be a pain point to buyers that think I haven't shipped.

Over the holiday weekends, I would like to be able to pack and ship and print packages as the weekend goes on as It can be too much to do all at once but this wrong ship date holds me back from doing too much because I don't want to confuse buyers

2nd thing

In the seller hub under "orders" when I view all the orders I am able to skim the list and see things like "shipped" and "delivered"  It's especially important lately because the post office has had problems and MANY of the packages I am sending are delayed by a few days and in some cases a week.

What I would like to be to do is sort this list by "delivered" or more importantly "shipped" so I can easily see the packages that I need to keep an eye on.   I need to see at least 30 days and that can be up to 300 items to skim through.  I use the notes feature to tag them to watch, but I would still like to sort them so that I can pull up the orders that have not been delivered after 4-5 days.

Thank you.

a) Labels can print from your pending funds.

b)  refunds will be made from pending funds if available.  If not available it will go negative ($$.$$), and then the amount will be recovered from new sales.  If sales do not occur to cover the ($$) it  will be added to your monthly invoiced when due  (per as post from eBay "Charles" on another thread.

@gwzcomps - I know it's inconvenient, but after all the recent reports about hacked accounts and how much trouble they are having getting everything sorted out, personally I'd rather the inconvenience of logging in more often than dealing with getting charged selling fees and store subscriptions for someone fraudulently selling stuff on my account. 😲

"My opinions and post are my own and not necessarily those of my employer"

Hi,

Thank you in advance for your time and advice on all questions, I have learned a lot from reading the boards and attending community chats when I can.

We sell used automotive parts and often this requires shipping freight due to the size and weight of engines, transmissions and other components.

In our listings we include the shipping requirements for the customer that I have posted below

"Free shipping Details:

Commercial Address WITH Forklift or Loading Dock - Price listed is for shipping to a commercial/business address with a forklift or loading dock designed for semi trucks. If you do not have a business address with a forklift or loading dock, we will ship this item to a freight terminal that is available closest to your shipping zip code (sometimes they are not close, so verify before purchasing). You must provide a day time phone number when you are checking out."

We check the address on google and in cases where the customer has a delivery address that is residential we can contact the customer and offer the shipping to the nearest terminal, ask for a business address that can handle unloading, or cancel the sale due to address problem.

Often the shipping address will be a commercial address but they will not have a fork lift or any ability to unload the semi and we have had cases where the customer will even reply to a message that yes they have the ability to do so.

When this happens the freight company will return the freight to their warehouse and re-deliver on a smaller truck with lift gate but that results in much higher charges often a few hundred dollars after they tack on a re-delivery fee, lift gate fee, and/or limited access fee.

We all know eBay and customer's want to see "Free Shipping" and I don't disagree with that. We have set an average cost into our pricing and this often works well (sometimes you win a few dollars, sometimes you lose) and allows us to offer our customer a fair price but when customers ignore the shipping requirements it causes huge increases (usually over two hundred dollars) and delays.

What would be eBay's suggestion to when this happens or to avoid this? (other than to increase pricing to cover those that don't pay attention to the shipping details and penalize those that do).

@hebertsusedautoparts aside from contacting all of your buyers prior to shipping every item, it sounds like you're doing all the proactive steps you can to mitigate this problem from occurring, which is great! There aren't any other suggestions I can offer to help minimize this from happening.

Hi @vrykalak - information about managed payments is limited, but I will help where I can, see below:

A. Sorry to hear about your bank's transaction fees - 10 doesn't seem like very many! Managed payments is developing to allow you to pay for shipping labels from your pending funds directly (no transfers needed) so you wouldn't need to do that. Hopefully that will lower the risk of you exceeding that 10 transaction limit.

B. This is a great question! I don't have the answer for you on this, but if you've received the payments registration email you should be able to request a call from the payments team who can help you with that. Thanks!

OK, have not had it for a little while, but I though you could drag, or just use an arrow that was there🙂

I might be able to help.  Or at least I'll try.

A.  When you enter MP you will have the option of setting your deposits to your bank on a daily or weekly basis.  So if you select weekly you won't have that issue.

You will be able to choose if you want your shipping labels to fund from the money in your MP account for that transaction or you can fund it with your PP account.  There is no option, at least not that I'm aware of, for funding it from your checking account.

B.  On refunds, MP looks to your MP account first for funding.  Whether or not the money is there, the refund will be processed immediately to your buyer.  If AFTER 21 days you don't have enough money in your MP account to cover the refund, Ebay will take fund it from your attached checking account.
