A little clarification needed in regards to INRs.

It is the understanding of many that an INR can not be opened by a buyer until the day after the latest ETA on the purchase record.  However I have experienced that buyers have been able to open them prior to that date.  It was further my understanding that they couldn't ask Ebay to close it in their favor until 3 business days AFTER the last ETA date on the Purchase.

What is the actual rule for Ebay.  I could not find it in the policy pages.  If I just missed it, would you please provide a link to the appropriate policy.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @mam98031, I'm happy to clarify! A buyer won't be able to open a INR until the latest estimated delivery date has past. Buyers must also wait a full 3 business days after the case is opened before they can ask eBay to step in. With that said, there are times when customer service may open an INR for a buyer prior to the latest estimated delivery date, such as if the seller is no longer a registered user.

Very interesting.  This is the way I always thought it worked too, until it wasn't.  I'm a seller in good standing with Ebay, yet I've had an INR opened BEFORE the ETA on the purchase.  And I know of other sellers that have had the same experience.

I 100% support what you have described, but the application of it seems to have different outcomes.  I don't know why and I'm trying to understand.  I don't have a current INR that I can give you to look at, we were just discussing this on another thread.

Hi @mam98031, a specific example would be helpful in determining why this happened, so if you run into this in the future hen let us know. Keep in mind that we can't share private information about claims on the boards, so we won't be able to share our findings publicly.

Oh cool. Yes, I will look into the FaceBook Ebay customer support option.

And by the way, I suspect the reason you don't find my duplicate orders is because one order is through my "guest account" and the other is through the "regular account".

It is precisely this distinction between guest account and regular account that confuses, not only me, but many Ebay customer support  persons as well. It was an Ebay customer support person's confusion over this distinction that prompted her to recommend that I purchase the second, redundant instance of the item.

Anyway, thanks for directing me to the FaceBook Ebay customer support page.

Hi @my-cottage-books-and-antiques, while what is considered appropriate for the Art category vs. the Adult category can be subjective, taking into account various details, the presence of certain parts of the anatomy are a factor when determining if something would be better listed elsewhere. More details on on this policy can be found here.

I think that's all the seller is really asking for, a clarification as to the policy and what they can do to make selling in that category work.  I didn't read it as a desire to circumvent policies, on the contrary, this seller seems to genuinely want to understand the nuance of the policies so they can be in compliance.  I would think it would be a win/win for eBay to provide that assistance.

Hi community team!

ECB apparently scooped the story about eBay's Turbo Lister replacement - a special discounted $14.99/mo subscription for Turbo Lister offer for SixBit's software tool.

If I'm reading this correctly, it seems a significant departure from eBay's long-promised TurboLister functionality built into Seller Hub.

When can sellers expect to see eBay's official announcement on this?

Hi @vociferous_commenter - Current TurboLister users are being communicated with directly in phases, there are no plans for a wider announcement as the number of impacted members is minimal. Thanks!

Can you tell us if ebay is currently pursuing actions to do something about the foreign scams the site is plagued with?

Hi @a_c_green, these reports have been shared with the appropriate teams. As soon as the Community Team has an update then we'll be sure to share that information.

Thanks. I was afraid that might be the case, but thought I'd give it the ol' college try anyway.

The main, overarching problem here seems to be that despite your best efforts, no one on the Engineering side seems to be taking your problem reports seriously. We know you're doing all you can with an overflowing plate of issues, complaints and so on, but at this point it looks like you're in need of some outside help. Over the years I've collected a small number of eBay contacts and business cards, but rather than me blasting a complaint in multiple directions and coming off like a loon, it would be better if you could point us in a more specific direction for where we could apply a little heat that might do you some good.

For example, when you submit the problem reports, which department of eBay (by name) receives them? Do you have periodic meetings to review cases? When someone tells you, "We have nothing new to report on that one," and you've heard that repeatedly for the same case in past weeks, are you able to escalate that to a superior on their side?

In conclusion, I'm not blaming any of you on the Community board, but my many years of working Customer Support make it rather easy to see that you all are not getting the help you need.

This question is for Tyler if you would please

From your reply on this post #36 can you kindly give us the format you are using to find stores?

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/My-Ebay-Store-is-not-found-in-Advanced-Search/td-p/30688591/pa...

In using the Advanced search and entering store names I am unable to locate large numbers of stores including the store from poster #37 from that same thread
post # 37 has no numbers in their  store.
I have also tried on a few sellers from this chat & cannot locate their stores either
I get an error responses
store not found 2-20.JPG

Even my own from the Advanced format takes me to what looks like my listings but not my store

My listings generally show the potential buyer an estimated delivery date beyond what is normally expected for USPS 1st Class, and Priority.

The current estimate for my items is Feb 27th which is not unreasonable, but that same date has been displayed since the evening of Feb 10th.

Every other Monday the delivery estimate is extended by 2 weeks, and remains the same for 2 weeks.  The date starts at 17 days out which is well beyond what would be expected with 3 day handling. Most ship same, or next business day, but the historical shipping data is not even helping to provide an accurate date.

Additionally, shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico displays dates well into next month as an estimated delivery.

Also, a "ship by" date in March was displayed for the sale made on Feb 17th.

I have also reported this to CS multiple times during the past year and on several boards here in the community, tagging several folks from eBay, as have other members.

I have a one-day handling time on my listings and I ship same or next day. I have never failed to achieve top-rated metrics. The estimated delivery dates are not only grossly overstated, they don't even make sense. They vary from day to day, sometimes with longer delivery dates to my own zip code than eBay shows to buyers in the furthest zones. Sometimes they are the same no matter what the zone. I've seen up to 10 days for Priority Mail. Over Christmas, the estimated delivery dates showed arrival AFTER Christmas when we hadn't even reach the USPS cutoff yet.

I've provided numerous examples. Here are some from this afternoon showing estimated delivery by eBay versus the USPS website from a package mailed tomorrow. On some days the estimated delivery on a Priority Mail package shows ten days!

264590884336

First Class

To my own zip code, eBay shows delivery 2/24; USPS shows delivery on 2/22

To the furthest zip code, eBay shows delivery delivery 2/25, USPS shows delivery on 2/24

264618913965

Priority Mail

To my own zip code, eBay shows delivery 2/25, USPS shows delivery on 2/21

To the furthest zip code, eBay shows delivery delivery 2/25, USPS shows delivery on 2/22

eBay's bug is impacting sellers' livelihoods. Since it doesn't impact every seller, eBay is favoring some sellers over others. eBay's failure to fix this is also impacting their own bottom line.

I have volunteered to work with dev if needed to further explain the problem, show more examples, whatever is needed to get it fixed. To date, crickets...

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for and receive an update, but more importantly a fix, on this.

Hi @gracieallen01 - that's correct, their accounts would be denoted.

I would like to take it that it means 'Yes, their accounts would be denoted to those reading the forum'.  Would that be correct?

Thank you for your time.

Hi @autopiacarcare, our desire to minimize the potential circumvention of eBay policy is not something that a seller should take personally - while seeking to understand or learn more about a decision so you can improve may have the purest of intentions, we still may not be able to elaborate if these details would pose a risk of increased abuse. Depending on the reason for the removal, more detail may or may not be able to be shared beyond what has already been given.
