I came here wondering about this too. Seems like eBay is either being DDoS'd or they've misconfigured their proxy servers. (I used to be a web server sysadmin so I have some idea of what we're looking at here.) The fact that we're seeing such a "raw" error message suggests that the requests aren't getting very far. We're getting rejected at the very edge because the proxy servers are either overloaded or can't connect to the back-end servers that generate the actual content.

If this is an internal problem, they should be able to take care of it relatively quickly...it would be something like they accidentally wrote a default config file with inappropriate settings out to all the proxy servers, and they would just need to replace it with the correct file. If this is an outside DDoS attack, then that's something else entirely, and may be a real challenge for them to deal with.

For a minute, it looked like everything was going back to normal and now its back. Its effecting everything but here. Refreshing a page with the error doesn't work. 

I feel bad for anyone with an auction ending now with low bids and no reserve. Thats going to sting...

Yep, getting the same. Typical ebay garbage. Managed to get one listing done, the rest got listed on a competitors site. If ebay doesn't want anyone listing here then we just have to add more to the other site. Usually try to split items up on the different sites but listing here now is futile.

Bidders won't care if they won at a low price. Ebay needs to do the honorable thing and reimburse sellers somehow but it will be costly when you think of all the auctions ending low.

Hi, I got that Shanghai China call today as well on 5/13, I as well have no idea whats going on. Part of the message was in English and the rest was in Chinese. Also getting that "upstream connect error or disconnect/ reset before headers, reset reason: overflow. I cleared all the browsing history and cache but that never fixed the issue. Last week I had running auctions that when you clicked on the auction, the eBay message(s) received were "item removed or item no longer available", really bad for selling as I like to offer items for $9.99 with no reserve, lost my "behind" on several pieces. Before all these changes, I was doing great...now I'm afraid to list with that format with all the error messages.  I don't know whats going on with eBay, maybe China or Russia "hacked" eBay. There seems to be LOTS of issues lately.

I wish ebay would be upfront about what is going on. Beyond this error preventing access on/off, the site has been problematic all month. What gives?
