What browser (or app) are you using? Tried signing out and signing back in to your eBay account? Try signing in to paypal in another tab in your browser and see if that affects anything. Try selecting an alternative paypal payment source, if possible.

Have you tried another browser? Another computer, if you have one handy (or your phone)?

If you are checking out a single item using your cart, try checking out directly from the item page.

If you still encounter problems, are you able to check out using ebay.ca instead?

Having same issue, purchased a couple of items today, when trying to sign into PayPal to make payment, got the same error message. Tried on several different computers, same message.

Re: paypal not accepting payment

I've been dealing with this error for two weeks now.  It's not your system, it's something at eBay.   A few days ago I was given an advice to change my IP.  I made only one purchase after that, so it's a limited sample size, but it went through without a hitch.

Re: paypal not accepting payment

You really should not be using a XP or Vista PC to be doing any kind of banking or purchases. They have not been supported by Microsoft for a long time and are not getting security updates!!!!! Even if you have good anti virus and malware you are still at a high level of risk. Really any internet usage should not be done on them anymore as even web pages can load bad stuff onto them.

Most likely yes.   A tablet could be a cost effective alternative.
