Very strange problem appeared today. I usually ship with stamps and use manually applied tracking label stickers. I manually enter the tracking number and click save. Just today I noticed the "myEBay" sold page is displaying the WRONG tracking number for at least two items I prepped for shipping today. But when I click the link for detailed tracking information it shows the RIGHT tracking number. But how did the link get to have the WRONG number in the first place?
Example:
Link will have number ending in "693889" while I actually entered "693896." When I open the link ending in "693889" I get a dialog box which displays information for "693896" as it should, since that is what I entered. Where the heck did the wrong number come from? Is it too much to ask for eBay to keep this sort of thing straight? I have tried editing the tracking information and re-entering the correct number and the link STILL displays the wrong number that I never entered in the first place. Do I need to get a ledger book to record the tracking number I use for each item because I can't rely on eBay sold page to display accurate information even when I enter it correctly???
This problem JUST appeared today. It seems like every day I use eBay a new bizarre bug pops up. So rather than focusing on selling things I spend time writing messages about bugs like this.
Also , it used to be when I entered a USPS tracking number the carrier field would autopopulate with 'USPS.' Now with this bug present for some reason the field is not autopopulating and I have to manually type 'USPS' after entering the tracking number. I wonder if the two things are related.
Why break things that are working? I find it very frustrating as a user. I appologize for complaining but it is frustrating.
