It is published that ebay will protect it's users from scams that rip users off. this scam starts by the scammer seller listing a bogus tracking number to a different address in the same city that will provide logistic info to a delivery of some item to ebay. I was informed of a delivery of my item to my address but when I called UPS they said it was delivered to a different address. I started a claim but ebay resolution granted the payment to the scammer and want me to provide negative proof that the package was delivered somewhere else??? I guess the EBAY guarantee protects the scammer seller's ship to address and leaves the investigation to the buyer. UPS cannot issue the seller's ship to address without a warrant

Just happened to me. (0) feedback ebayer, opened that account 10 days prior to listing. I paid $526, thinking I've got buyer protection so what can go wrong. Sellers location was Sandy, Utah. Tracking number provided showed shipping was out of Richmond British Columbia, Canada but going to my city and zip code. The item was delivered and signed for today. I called FedEx and they advised, the name on the package was not mine and when I provided my address they said it was a different address. When I asked for the address, they advised I am not the recipient so I am not entitled to that information. I called eBay, they suggested I email the seller. I emailed the seller, no response. Reading these posts about how eBay will just award any claim to the seller if the tracking city matches despite nothing else adding up, is very discouraging. It's crazy how much money eBay makes for essentially doing nothing everyday. Be careful because eBay has nothing in place to protect you from this and it's looking like they will ensure the fraudulent activity is carried out, money paid to the scam artist, and tough luck for you, the honest eBayer. Sad really.

Still happening. Just happened. When will Ebay do something. Wonder if a Class Action lawsuit would get them to address the matter.
