Re: how to stop ebay from opening new tabs

the only way round it i can see that might work is run the android ebay app on your pc , so far my android phone and tablet are not affected as the app doesnt have tabs, to say its frustrating is a major understatement and it just shows what idiots they have at ebay to implement this feature. Anyway i just bought a load of stuff that i would have bought on ebay elsewhere and will continue to do this untill they stop this silly feature, so all i can say is f--- you ebay if you want my custom then stop this feature asap.

Re: how to stop ebay from opening new tabs

ever heard of rsi this is causing major problems for a lot of people never mind its stupid and annoying, i have arthritis in my hands and its aggravating it so much i cannot browse ebay anymore due to all the unnecessary scrolling to close the open tabs , if you had a clue what rsi is or had a disability you would not make such stupid remarks . this is causing rsi damage without a doubt.  people are not doing it wrong , ebay are being idiots , they are even overriding the settings on the browsers where you can force a page to open in existing tab. so this is deliberate , i have four browsers on my pc and its doing it on all of them, its not people doing it wrong, why do they put a back button on your mouse or track ball , not for ebay to disable it. your comments are as annoying as what ebay has done. Anyway F--- you ebay just bought loads of stuff i would have bought on ebay but as a protest i bought it elsewhere and will continue to do so until you stop this.

Re: how to stop ebay from opening new tabs

Just adding to the I've stopped using ebay at the moment as its so annoying that search result and subsequent clicks open new tabs.

Really turning me off ebay as if there isn't enough reasons to stop using it at the moment.

ebay forum admins please can you pass on our annoyance at this issue please.

I've had conversations with a number of people about this including IT support calls thinking there PC's are broken.

Regards

Dave

Re: how to stop ebay from opening new tabs

Since I can get nearly everything I want via other sites most of which now have money back guarantees along with many other benefits like being able to report scam buyers I have decided this is the last straw I'm out. if I knew how to contact all sellers I would be doing so If you can I would suggest you do so as I am sure it will be the only way this rude and arrogant company will affect change.

Accountants I just love them, time after time, you replace the entrepreneur with one 😁

They come along, terrified of rocking the boat, never make any improvements, or maybe they just lack any vision, they think they can milk the cow a lot harder, put up their prices, ignore long time traditions such as paypal, they think opening items in new tabs will make people buy more, they pretend to care (who here has responded to the "Feedback" ... even better who's seen a change?)

Well my friends ..... have your purchasing habits changed recently? 😁

Re: how to stop ebay from opening new tabs

I'm glad I'm not alone here.  Well not glad this is happening to anyone.

I keep ending up with a ton of open tabs before I get po'd and close the browser.

eBay, how is this a good thing?

Re: how to stop ebay from opening new tabs

In Firefox I used this add on/extension

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/always-open-in-current-tab/?utm_source=addons.mozilla...

Close out Firefox and reopen after install

Re: how to stop ebay from opening new tabs

The only solution I've found is to drag the link from the search results list onto the current tab (on Firefox). Then it opens in the current tab, and the back button works again.

Ridiculous to have to do this!

Re: how to stop ebay from opening new tabs

Here's A Work Around.....

Click the "Advanced " link that's just right of the search box.   https://www.ebay.com/sch/ebayadvsearch
Search results from the Advanced page will now open in the same tab.
