estimated delivery dates tech issue

I have had 2 case opened in 1 week for items not received. My customers are being given inaccurate dates (nothing new) of so called "expected delivery dates". USPS website gives media mail items (economy shipping) 2-9 business days. I have already extended handling time on all of these items from 1 day to 3 days at ebays suggestion "Extend your handling time on your listings if you expect delays" Since USPS is still having delays in delivery I have done that since Nov. So why is it that ebay is allowing buyers to open cases/requests for items not received in a matter of  a few days?  First it was 5 business days a book did not arrive, case opened, now 3 business days, case opened, funds on hold again. What happened to my 3 day handling time and USPS TRUE estimated time for delivery? I even mailed these in less than 24 hours and ebay allows funds held, cases open???? SOMETHING IS BROKEN IN EBAY. ebay will argue these are only estimates we are giving buyers......so why not give them accurate estimates. Besides economy shipping being estimated 2-9 days, most packages are still "running late" due to postal issues, so now buyers are really getting wrong info from ebay. This is getting old, but during this pandemic and during holidays especially why would you set up your sellers for the fall. To make ebay look good??? I sure hope Andrea Stairs (new Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Seller Community for the North America marketplace) will get to the bottom of seller issues and this is a giant technical issue ebay needs to fix,

You do not help sellers, buyers, or your own company giving false unrealistic predictions that eve USPS doesn't back you on. Driving away your own business and ours. I already extended time as suggested now what stop selling until ebay fixes these exaggerated estimates? Buyers do not go by "estimated," they see something that looks like it is running late because you give them some crazy date when in fact using USPS guidelines they aren't even late to start with. How crazy is that?????????? If you are going to continue to use false basis for estimates you could add "your item should arrive by____but probably won't since our estimates are FLAWED and often NOT ACCURATE especially for economy services. Even priority packages are still running late, how can ebay expect economy packages to arrive across the USA in a couple of days?

Your handling time means nothing when it comes to estimated delivery dates. eBay uses your historical shipping time and, as you said, you ship within 24 hours. eBay will provide delivery estimates based on your one day "historical" handling time.

Re: estimated delivery dates tech issue

It should be a difference for economy (over half our items) and priority shipping times, appears it doesn't matter anymore than ebays suggestion to extend handling times. Most importantly I understand what you and many are saying and its very flawed how ebay calculates this estimate....that is the technical errr I refer to here. When estimates are faster expected dates that even USPS estimates under normal conditions then sellers are just being thrown under the bus by ebay.

Again:  sure hope Andrea Stairs (new Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Seller Community for the North America marketplace) will get to the bottom of seller issues and this is a giant technical issue ebay needs to fix,

Most sellers agree. eBay doesn't care. They say it's intentional, not an error.
