ending listings early due to relisting (duplicates) glitch

hi there, can anyone tell me if i end my auction listings early with no bids will i be penalised with fees or will my seller dashboard be affected?

I am having a problem with a glitch that is relisting items twice or relisting sold items again, I'm not sure what is going on, but i have at least 100 duplicate auctions that i need to end - will there be any fees if i end the listings?

Thanking you in advance, having trouble finding a straight answer from ebay faq and help boards!

If there have not been any bids, then there will be no fees.  The only time there's a fee for ending an auction early is if it has received bids.

And there is never any defect point for ending a listing early.

this is a mess up from ebay and is no fault of yours. There seems to be a major rash of this same glitch !

Re: ending listings early due to relisting (duplicates) glitch

In the past couple of weeks (mid Dec to Jan 8, 2020) , all my Good Till Cancelled listings (single items) that have been sold as Buy-It-Nows do not get deleted automatically by ebay. The listing still remains with "0" items. I can see the listing, but buyers do not see it.
If I don't physically delete these "phantom" listings, I am guessing they will be relisted each month, so I will be charged the relisting fee. I have an item currently sold that I am monitoring to see if it gets relisted.
Have spoken with ebay, but the 2 that I spoke with were not aware of the glitch.

So I dutifully have to search and find & then delete all items sold each day. Can't imagine how sellers with 50 sales per day manage to do this needless chore.

If you have noticed this, please reply to this posting so I know I'm not the only one with this problem.
Thanks!

That is the "Out of stock" option, which you can see (and opt out of) in your site preferences. It's handy for sellers who have ongoing multiple-item listings.   Apparently the eBay gremlins have activated this option in your account. As the Help page explains, if an item remains in OOS status for 3 months, it is ended and the insertion  fees (if any) are credited.

Re: ending listings early due to relisting (duplicates) glitch

Hello,

I just spent three hours searching all my stuff for items that I don't have, It's a new customer and how do I tell her that two of the items she bought I don't have. Then it happened to another customer three times, so I gave her free stuff, what are we doing to do about this, I thought it was in the past,

It is not a glitch. It is how GTC works.

As you stated you see it, and buyers do not see it in search.

In "site preferences" you have the out of stock (OOS) checked for YES.

OOS allows your paid listing to stay active. This is a benefit to sellers that replenish stock, and keep listings going.

You will need to continue to manually end them, or they will renew. After 3 months at "zero" in stock eBay will end the listing. If basic listing fees were charged they are supposed to be credited. I do not think "free/promotional" listings used are credited.

Sorry for the repeated info. type slow, and got logged out by the authentication gremlin
