Recently, I have seen very weird ebay search results:
1) it says xxx number of results found, but only less number of results were shown.
2) the search count at different places are different (see photos below)
3) It often included irrelevant search results that doesn't match the keywords
I think 1) and 2) are likely some bugs. 3) is probably their new algorithm to promote similar products, but I found this change very annoying.

Are you using an ad blocker?
Do your search results change if you temporarily disable it?
In the past there have been issues with certain filters -- primarily "anti-circumvention filters" -- that could affect whether promoted listings appear in the search results. In some cases, when eBay makes it harder for promoted listings to be distinguished from non-promoted "organic" listings, ad blockers can wind up blocking organic listings from appearing in searches properly.

11 is the number of listings.
55 is the number of variations.
For example, look at the first search result: https://www.ebay.com/itm/166659914892
On that listing you can choose between 28 different variations. That 28 counts towards the "55" but the 1 listing counts towards the "11".
Actually - scratch that. I noticed the first 2 listings each have 28 variations - plus the 9 other listings - that's a total of 65 not 55. And all are in stock. So I'm not sure where the 55 is coming from.
