eBay for Business FB Page now makes you click a "verify" link to log into your account?

Apparently, the last few days, FB for business is asking people who message them to click an unknown truncated link to log into their account so they can connect to the eBay team. Who in the year 2022 would click on an unknown link on a FB page to log into their business account?  That seems incredibly scammy and suspect. If it's valid, it's irresponsible...as you are training sellers that it's fine to click random links and log into their eBay to "verify" their account...and if it's not true, someone has taken over your eBay for Business FB account, which is something you should probably announce. Please advise which it is so I can let my groups know. Thanks!

Hi, I saw someone else mention this, but I don't get any kind of verification link when I go to eBay for Business FB page and send them a message. Did you actually receive this link? If so, at which point did you get it and how did you get it (upon opening page, via messenger, etc.)?

Check out the Community section of the Ebay for Business Facebook page. There are a couple of posts about this. Looks suspicious to me because the link they want you to click isn't a https link.  However Ebay for Business CS says it is the "new way" they are verifying members.

From your post and the replies, I see that it is not just the eBay platform that decided to institute changes that hinder their core business.

Just when I thought it couldn't get worse......
