Zero Quantity Items Available For Purchase

Hello,

I've recently run into a problem where an item sells but it remains active with zero quantity available. The problem is that people can buy the item when there's zero available. I've had to inform the buyer and cancel the sale BUT my out of stock rate has gone through the roof. 

Is anyone else experiencing this?

This is happening to me right now over 16 months after the original post.  The item sells, quantity gets reduced but the item is still up for sale.    How can this be adjusted?  Hey moderators, how about some attention?
