I see others have had this same issue. But I see no resolutions! I am brand new to ebay and just tried to post my first item. Any suggestions? on hold now 30 minutes! Thanks!

Was your first item a very expensive item? Ebay will limit new sellers on expensive listings. Have you registered a cc or debit card with Ebay for your seller fees? Have you linked your Ebay and Paypal accounts?

I also got this message every times i try to list. Couldn't find any answer why. Fortunately, i managed to solved it. The reason why i cannot list is because i don't have automatic payment method for my account.
Go to Account Setting > Payment Method For Seller Fees. Then set automatic payment method. I set it to PayPal account. Then, make sure the change made is updated. Hope it will help you.
There might be other reason why you get that message, but mine solved by this method.

I have the same issue. When I click "Update your automatic payment method.", I get the following error message:
You cannot sign up for automatic PayPal payments at this time.
If I select credit card as my automatic payment, I get the message:

Now trying to connect my paypal to my ebay brings up the message "
You have successfully signed up for PayPal with a credit card."
And then nothing has changed on the settings page.
Is something going on with ebay today? Is the site always this useless? Maybe I should sign up somewhere else. Any suggestions?

I have exactly the same problem. Can't create a seller account because of a technical issue...
Calling on eBay to explain this, I won't be using eBay until they fix it.

Have you tried setting up a seller account on ebay.co.uk instead of ebay.com?
I notice that with the exception of the original poster, all the posters on this thread having issues are registered outside the US.

I'm using the .co.uk site for this.
If I go to .com I can't see my selling 'drafts' but they are there on .co.uk so I'm fairly sure it's the correct domain. My log in seems to work on both so it would be easy to confuse them.

The latest version of Firefox won't view or print PDF's so I keep Chrome just for this
You should be able to open pdfs from within Firefox. Check your Firefox Options and look under Applications to see how it is set to open pdfs; try choosing to open with Acrobat Reader rather than using a browser plug-in. There may be two separate pdf entries in the Applications table, so make sure both are set correctly.
