Where's All the stuff listing error SOLVED....(Maybe)

OK, after a month plus of this disaster I MAY have stumbled on something. I have been listing with my VPN on for a couple days now after I changed this (I probably just jinxed myself). Go in to your settings on Microsoft Edge and this screen (pic below) should pop up. See if you are "signed in" to sync. I have never turned that on (never used ME browser until now as it was the only one that really worked even without the VPN on) but mine was connected....It had to have automatically done this at some point on an update. I have no idea why this would matter however right after I disconnected it and tested listing stuff, I have not had any issues. I had suspected it to be an issue with a Microsoft update but thought maybe on the Defender security. Maybe this has something in connection with that though. Please report back if your ME browser is "syncing" and what happens when you turn it off. Hopefully, this solves this issue for everyone! I will also report back if I start having issues again.

One other thing I noticed before this "fix"is that when you upload pics, do no more than 6 at a time...then wait a while before saving or listing. I think what is happening is that the pics are not actually all the way uploaded even though they appear to be. Giving the extra time ensures they are fully uploaded. If they were not uploaded yet and we were trying to list or save it would definitely act the way it was and not allow the listing to go live or save.

How slow is your Internet connection?

Using a VPN slows the effective speed.

If you have had problems with other browsers and Edge was the only one that worked, I suspect there is a bottleneck. The 6 picture limit also suggests a bottle neck.

You might try pinging Ebay to see where the delay might be.

Ya, its not the internet speed. Too many people having an issue here on this to be that. I have actually tried 2 different internet providers and its either at the Ebay server or a setting on my laptop that was changed on an automatic update that does not play well with the Ebay server. Ebay has been having a broader issue with pics also. It still could be that Ebay was scanning VPN addresses in various ways and stopping them.....not that hard to do really. I was hoping people having the issue would try my suggestion and report back that it fixed their listing issues.....fingers still crossed.

Your post describes the kind of work that is going to resolve this.

I am using Microsoft Edge so I was able look at the Sync setting also. But I saw that I have not been signed into Sync (screen shot below) and I still have the problem (with VPN on).

But I can confirm the "don't save more than six images at a time" observation. For me it was 7 (I spent an hour refining the number yesterday) but that's a nit.  My 7 images totaled about 20MB of data, so maybe it's not simply the number of images, but instead the total MB. I currently limit my drafts to 4 additional images per save and have not had the "we looked everywhere" crash since.

On the other hand: I uploaded a video yesterday that had a 5X larger file size than the total MB of picture data that failed, so maybe it IS the number of pictures, not the MB.

And many more people are not having these problems.

And many more are not using Edge for their browser - Edge has a relatively small marketshare.

Another poster with the problem appears to be in an area served by a low bandwidth ISP.

There are timeouts built into many Ebay functions which if the connection is too slow will generate some of the error messages which the sufferers from these errors experience.

I have a fast internet connection and now problems with Firefox or Edge on Ebay.

It would be useful if you and other sufferers shared your connection speed. If a significant number had DSL that would be highly suggestive of the nature of the problem. If some were using FIOS that would rule out other conjecture.

In the interest of gathering data, here's mine:

My location: SF Bay Area

VPN location: Los Angeles, CA

VPN provider: Norton

Internet speed (as per fast.com): 80MB p/s

Internet service provider: Xfinity

ping of  www.ebay.com  returns the following: IP address = 72.247.97.109 , time = 23ms

Do you use a VPN?

I thought we settled the internet connection speed for this issue long ago in other threads. I cannot say that some are not experiencing issues due to slow speeds however I believe many of us have high speed internet connections. I never get an error message of any type.....just sits and thinks until you hit the "Ebay" or back button....then get the error messages about Ebay being down. If the pics are not uploading but are popping up as if they were, the connection speed should not be causing that. When you add pics, it "spins" for a few seconds (this time does vary) and then pops up clear like it was uploaded. I really believe that even though it stops the "spinning" and the pic becomes clear, that does not mean the pic was actually uploaded already....that is a programming error IMO. it should only stop "spinning when the pic is actually fully uploaded. This issue would actually explain the different internet speeds having different results as you mention however it should NOT stop "spinning" until fully uploaded. IF this is the issue, I am not sure why Ebay would not program a message that "pics are still uploading" and not let you off that screen until they were actually uploaded.

I never used Edge prior to this issue. Some said they had better luck using Edge so I gave it a try and it seemed to actually work a little better.
