Hello eBayers,
I'm a 12 year vet to eBay, and a "security geek," with consultational work with Paypal, Bezeq International, TMobile etc. And I'm here to supply a whole lot more secure login system for eBay buyers and sellers above just a SMS login.
Anyone with either Kali Linux or Parrot OS, or any one of the other forensic network testing operating systems, with a simple code input in a terminal can "catch," not only the SMS code, but also your login username and password.
Go to youtube or anyone of the other top 3 video sites and type in
Kali Linux code to hack SMS.
and spend a few minutes getting educated.
I checked 2FA listings, and I see that eBay is listed, but NO real mention on login page or elsewhere or any "HOW TO" use use 2FA anywhere including forum.
2. There is a more secure login "code" system that can be used that generates 5 ten second codes that eBay can easily implement a 2 -Factor-Authorization system, or 2FA.
This sends self destructing 10 second codes to the 2FA app on the phone, or on a desktop / laptop / tablet, via cellular OR Wifi, and "we" can input one of the 1 of the 5 codes into the login code box.
Some Free 2FA applications are Google Authorization, OneLogin (Microsoft), FreeOTP, and many more. I've tested a few and so the one I use is Authy.
I use Authy for my desktop, and phone, it was the easiest to setup with the 5 codes login and 8 diget code choices and I don't need data plan to use it's security.
So IF eBay does have 2FA or OTP where is the "How Tos" for that extra secutiry feature?
Paypal has it and Amazom, Bestbuy, Nextag, and even Walmart etc, etc so where is it for eBay?
