After I do a search for something, the list of those items appear but when I select any of them nothing happens. I can't view any item I click on, it just stays on list of items I've searched for.
I've tried signing out and then back in but it doesn't fix the problem. I've tried rebooting my computer and that doesn't help either. I can't buy anything on eBay because I can't click on anything. This has been going on for days.

Sounds like a browser issue. Try another browser.

Try and clear your browsers history, etc.
You may have to try different browser.

I'm on a Mac and have always used Safari with no problems. I'll try clearing the history and report back if that takes care of it.

I cleared the history and it didn't make a difference.
I have another older Mac laptop and I'm able to click on everything just fine with that one. I don't see why there would be a difference between the two of them. 🤔
I'm running Safari on both.

When I right click on an item and then select 'Open Link in New Window', I'm then able to view the item.

Try a different mouse if you're using one, they do wear out.

Just guessing here, but:
Glitchy browser update? Roll back to the previous version, see if that helps. OR you can uninstall and re-install.
Bad mouse? Get a new mouse. This has happened to me before, left click quit working, had to right click and open in a new window. (not just here, everywhere). A new mouse did the trick. In all fairness, the old mouse was almost 15 years old lol

I'm actually using the trackpad that's built into my MacBook Air. I didn't know how to describe a right click on a trackpad. The trackpad works flawlessly on everything else.
I'm not up on the technical aspect of computers and wouldn't know how to uninstall Safari or how to reinstall it.

it's happening to me now too. Never encountered this before. It's definitely not a problem with my system, ..it lets me open up my own items that I am selling, just not anything in search results...something is wrong on eBay's end, imo.

Try a different browser as a test -- you do not need to uninstall Safari to test using another browser. Download Chrome or Firefox and sign in to eBay and try it out to see if you have the same problem there.
You may also want to check to see if you are using the latest version of Safari or if there are any updates you can install:

From Google, might help
"Go to the Apple menu and open System Preferences. Click on Trackpad. Go to the “Point & Click” section (called 'One Finger' in earlier Mac OS versions) Select the checkbox next to “Secondary Click” and select “Bottom Right Corner”

Thanks.
I followed your directions but I'm still having the same problem.

Your link indicates that my version of Safari is up to date.
I have no interest in using a different browser because Safari has worked well for me since 1996 when I switched from a PC and Windows to Macs. As I've said, my other Mac laptop is allowing me to click on any particular listing with no problems.

Hey Guys, I have an update. I called Apple support and explained the problem. They used a remote connection and was able to determine that I had malware or adware installed on my computer and that's what was causing the problems I was having. The Tech had me install a free program that was able to remove it and my Mac is back to normal.
Thanks to all of you who offered suggestions on how to solve my problem.
