I wasn't affected by the disappearing photos bug, but did have a couple of others. One was just an inconvenience, not being able to see the number of views on items -- though that does impact business since it's important to gauge customer interest.
The major issue was a complete stoppage of sales for 2 and a half days on June 15-17. I've been under the impression that the issue was just going to be ignored (even though multiple posters here mentioned it, and several of them posted that eBay customer service reps acknowledged it on the phone). I tried one of the "recommended" ways of contacting you, which was social media. I tweeted you at askebay on June 17 and got no response. I followed up with another tweet 5 days later, and still no response.
No other company has ever completely failed to respond to my tweets, especially when they've caused an issue! To make it worse, any other issue I've tweeted about has been simply an interruption in service that I'm paying for (i.e., mobile phone or home internet outages), while in this case the outage actually cost me hundreds of dollars -- yet I was ignored! The loss of revenue was already unacceptable, but it was compounded by being completely disregarded.
The whole situation makes me wish I hadn't converted my account to a store, because then I could simply walk away without an early termination fee. Now I can't switch completely over to Poshmark and Mercari until my store subscription has been active for a year. But if, by that time, eBay as a company has still completely ignored the issue that ocurred and the revenue that I lost, that option will be looking better and better.

Their generic apology really hasn't helped matters.
I have over 3000 listings. I am missing thousands of photos.
What is going to be done since I am not only losing income, but will lose listing time to have to go and find thousands of photos?

These ongoing issues are unacceptable. I just started selling in April but I'm shocked that any business would operate this way & have a total disregard for their customers. They want sellers who focus on excellent customer service but they have the worst customer service I have ever seen (and I'm not talking about the customer service reps, but rather any person involved in the July 3rd so sorry, but not really memo). They want to keep up with the market by excepting returns & refunds from sellers but can't live by their own policy. I have not been too vocal b/c I kept thinking it would get fixed but really this is crazy to just go on & on with no real explanation. I would be embarrassed to run & business this way.

Nothing!
eBay has proven time and again that they really don't care about their small sellers. Every quarter they force new changes that show they think all of us have deep pockets and have a desire to do business in the mold of "Neiman Marcus".
Longer no questions asked free returns cost eBay next to nothing. They gain more and more buyers who think we are running free rental services. Use the item for 14, no 30, no SIXTY days and return it free of charge by just saying you want to. In the meantime, they keep finding more and more ways to soak the sellers for higher fees. It's not that we are getting better service from eBay, we are just paying more to be told they really only care about buyers.
Removing negative feedback for buyers because some sellers abused it. Why not dump the bad sellers instead? Because they really only care about sellers.
Charging fees on shipping, because some sellers abused it. They could have just charged on the difference between the shipping charged and the actual shipping cost and dumped abusive sellers, but that wouldn't have put as much money on their bottom line.
They have been given proof of abusive buyers, most of whom are still roaming the site today.
Ever notice how they only talk about how they are #1 in shoppers? That's because only two things matter to eBay, touting the number of buyers and increasing their bottom line.
They seem to forget, they have nothing to sell. Only sellers bring value to their site!

In usual eBay fashion, nothing will be done. They do not care. They will throw a few hundred free listings everyone's way and hope that shuts up most of the affected people. What good is listing right now when eBay is still not working correctly? I had no sales at all on my selling account, everything is still rolling off with no sales. It's heartbreaking to see when I know how much work I put into all those listings.
I have free listings sitting because I don't believe in them working-at all. All the listings I made on the last promo rolled off-NOTHING! I spent 18 hours a day for 3 days making all those listings. There is NO way they were seen, at least for long. No sales. Great items, low prices, free shipping, make an offer, everything! I watched my hard work go down the drain.
They can say what they want. It's clear something is still very wrong. I truly believe they don't want small sellers here anymore. Some sellers are doing great, others are dying a fast death. It isn't the items or price. It 'seems' some are getting a boost in exposure and some are getting a blanket thrown over them. Or their accounts or stores are messed up somehow and no one knows how to fix them.
I'm selling more elsewhere now. They like my items. My items are seen. They are selling. That's all I want. A fair place to sell where buyers see my items. I think eBay has outgrown itself and can not handle the current volume of products and sellers. Small sellers like myself are running to other sites in droves. I don't think eBay cares, they actually need to downsize, it is clear they cannot handle the sheer volume of items offered by their huge seller pool. Neither can anyone else when 100,000 items show up in a search.
Something has to give. If they cannot create the software and the backbone behind it to support an ever growing volume of products and sellers, they have to cap their site at some level. And it seems pretty clear they are doing that. To the glee of some sellers and the demise of others. It isn't personal, its just where it's headed.
The writing is and has been on the wall. It is finally hitting the fan full force. I bet it continues to be a mess for a long time until it restructures itself. In the meantime, I have my eggs in several baskets and looking for more. I can fish with several poles if I have too, and I do.
Good luck everyone. Just know it isn't just you. No one I know is doing well on eBay right now. No one.

"JACK and SQUAT"
That's an exercise in futility. Seems more like "rack and chains."
