Did you mean:

We think you are a BOT

Getting this message when changing seller. only seems to be on FIREFOX.

"

As you were browsing eBay, something about your browser made us think you were a bot. There are a few reasons this might happen:

  • You're a power user moving through this website with super-human speed.
  • You've disabled JavaScript in your web browser.
  • A third-party browser plugin, such as Ghostery or NoScript, is preventing JavaScript from running."

Is this an Ebay problem? If I cannot get to my seller page then I cannot list or sell or ship.

Re: We think you are a BOT

Many thanks for posting this. I am also having this problem. How do I get added to the alert 14917 so it gets fixed. Do I need to do anything at my end?

@c-yag

To get added to the alert, you will need to contact customer support using the "Technical issues" help page. There is a link in the original post.

There should be a "Have us call you" link at the bottom of this page:

@jbbowers12012

Customer support is just collecting names of those affected so they can send that info on to the programmers. There is nothing CS can do to fix individual problems at this time.

Re: We think you are a BOT

happened to me 2x yesterday and I use Safari- probably because I have a Mac which shows the site sign in info so things are speeded up. Ebay wouldn't let me do anything until I closed Ebay and started again. It's a BIG pain.

Re: We think you are a BOT

HI-

Near the top of the post is:

"If you are impacted by one or multiple of these please consider contacting Customer Support here to be added to the open tickets."

I followed these instructions just now. --and the agent had never heard of this problem or the community forum with technical issues. She thought I was talking nonsense and didn't believe any thing that I was telling her about this issue. She had no knowledge of the alert number 14917-no such alert in her system- and I couldn't convince her that it was real. After several minutes she said she would make a ticket but was quite sure it was something only on my computer and was not affecting anyone else.

I did this but no help and don't know what to do now. Wait and see I guess.

Re: We think you are a BOT

I followed all those instructions and asked to get added to the alert. My agent told me there was no problems and no alert with that issue. I tried to explain it to her but she didn't believe me and only reluctantly said she would make a ticket. She didn't know about the technical forum community chats etc. or that anyone else was receiving the bot message and getting blocked. What do I do now?

@c-yag

The agent needs training. I'm raising this with staff. You can try again for a different agent who is more aware.
