It seems that eBay is incorrectly collecting sales taxes in Washington on certain coin and bullion purchases that are EXEMPT from sales tax. Beware the added cost. Ebay might want to read WAC 458-20-248 and the states own website.

I've called and sent letters with the details on the law with copies and no replies from Ebay so now try to collect the sales taxes on my purchases of over 3k of Ag and a kilo of Au for this year could lead me in a audit. Welcome Washingtonians I think I lost over 7k of tax funds because of Ebay errors.

This despite I pointed out that eBay has a "learn more" link concerning the sales tax charged, and that link takes the reader to Virginia Dept of Revenue, and scrolling down a few pages, one could find the section of law that cites the exemption of coin purchases.
eBay will tell you to request a refund of this Sales Tax on your annual tax return, that's as far as they seem to go. You could, if you chose, pursue this with your state attorney general. Enough complaints might result in action.
