I tried using my new Varo account for ebay payout's and got this error just clicking on the link to Varo in their list of banks, Sorry, we are unable to connect to your bank at this time. Please try again later.
Is there something wrong with Ebay's servers or they just don't like Varo and won't accept them as a payout?
My sister has an Ebay account and has used her Varo account for Ebay payouts so has something changed or they just having problems at Ebay?
I tried manually adding my routing and account number and got back an error saying try another payment method. I tried that as personal checking. I then tried using Business checking and it might have gone through but I did not see it pop up as a payment option or for payout.

Some things that may help with linking or editing your bank account for Managed Payments:
Go to https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin and click on edit your payout method. Click on the "+" Add payment option. Select the bank and click continue. Add the new bank, which will overwrite the old bank information.
Instead of selecting your bank from the pull down menu, scroll all the way to the end and click on "My bank is not on the list" to enter the information manually.
Make sure you are using your bank's preferred ACH routing number for online deposits, as it often is different than the one preceding your account number on your checks.
Make sure your name is exactly the same on your ebay account as it is on your the bank account. Change the ebay name if needed, you can change it back later.

I tried it manually to add the bank (Varo) for Direct Deposits or Payouts . It recognized Varo by adding in the Routing number and Bank account but at the last part when i clicked to confirm everything i get a large red banner come up above the Add account or card section and it says, We couldn't verify this bank account. Please select a different payment method.
I went to Varo and they had shown me the same exact steps as you wrote but I keep getting the same error.
I read that sometimes Ebay has problems connecting to bank accounts .
I really hate having to do this crap and so do many other sellers that were on Ebay but just gave up after they forced us to use this new payment junk instead of Paypal which they accept on Ebay but we as sellers can not use it. It's greed, mistrust and just plain wanting more control over every aspect of the sale. Many people have started selling on Facebook Marketplace instead and just quit Ebay. They were selling thousands of dollars worth of items a year and so was I. Ebay never asked it's sellers what they wanted, they just force whatever they want on us. If i can't get it setup, I will go sell somewhere else too. I have thousands of antiques and I don't need their extra hassle.

I suggest you call Varo, sometimes the bank will know about this problem and will give you a different routing number to use instead.

That's a lot of anger. Do you maybe bank at another bank that will work? I'm not familiar with Varo, but all the majors should work-Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo...
Or leave, that's another option you have. Not that I would trust FBMP.

How do you change the name in your eBay account. I can’t find that anywhere?

Did you ever get in. I did this months with Chime Bank. Then I got Varo and it doesn’t work either. 🤪

Chime will not work, because it is not actually a bank itself. Varo is a bank and probably should work.
