Ebay has been nagging me to update my account details for at least the last two months.

But every time I try, it gives me this error: 'Something went wrong. Please try again later.'

Very helpful error message, Ebay. Well done.

Now Ebay is sending me this message:

You missed the deadline to update your account details, but don’t worry-we’re giving you more time. Update your account details by January 20, 2021, or your ability to revise or relist existing listings, or create new listings will be disabled. Don’t wait!

Thank you, Ebay for so generously giving me more time. I would very much like to update my account details. Let me try again. Oh look: 'Something went wrong. Please try again later.'

I am shocked that it didn't work any better on the 250th try than attempts number 1 through 249.

If you are having trouble signing up for Managed Payments, there are some good troubleshooting tips to be found in this thread:

Common issues involve making sure your eBay account type matches your checking account type (personal account vs. business account), making sure your name is spelled exactly the same on both accounts including any middle name or initial, and making sure you are using the correct routing number for your checking account.

So is this request real? I was thinking that it was maybe a virus... I don't like to open any link I get on my email, unless I can go to their website and verify it. I can't find on my eBay account any request like this.

The request wasn't spam or a virus or in an email. It's a message in my Ebay inbox.

The troubleshooting link sends me to the exact same page that the Ebay message sends me to.

Tells me to update my details and then click NEXT.

Does anyone have a real solution. This just goes on and on for my. I've tried everything. The link below does not help. What a pain.

You are not trying to use a PO Box address, are you?

I believe you need to use a real street address.

If they need a real street address I wonder what they will be using that for and what they might be using it for in comparisons? My mail all goes to a PO Box ... my PO Box is the address they will see on any bank documents I might have to submit. If they would ever try to send any mail to my physical address it would get returned as I have no mailbox up anymore. My physical address would show on my driver's license but the name on my driver's license will not match the name on any bank statement or my eBay account.

Maybe once eBay gets all the open jobs in the Payments section filled things will get easier??

I also have this error, i have tried on my mobile app and 2 different computers with multiple browsers. I also have a P.O. box as my address, but this has not changed in the 10 or more years i have been using ebay. All of my name/address/phone is already entered in the fields when i attempt to save. If they are removing my P.O. box i will not receive mail, bills, or deliveries. This address matches any other mail item that any company sends me. Ebay needs to fix this, and soon as apparently its up to me to enter by February at some point. Some B/S going on here.

Our PO has advised us to style address with PO box as follows: (#204 being the PO Box)

123 Main St. #204

That will get it delivered to the PO box and satisfy Ebay's need for a physical address........

Yes I have a PO Box and that is my only choice for USPS mail. Just like some other posters USPS does not deliver to my physical street address. I don't know if I want to try the "123 Main St. #204" because I think this is confusing and many not work. I may have to just stop selling on ebay because of this incompetence. At the very least the error message should be clear on what is wrong and not just state "Try again later".

My problem exactly. For 2 months now I have wasted many hours with this issue. I am down to about 3 items left to sell- can't relist anymore or put anything new on. I am seriously thinking of letting everything run out and listing on Facebook Marketplace since i can't get a knowledgeable human to help me.
