Universal links no longer launching eBay app

Up until about 3 weeks ago or so, whenever I’d receive an email from eBay with notifications for my saved searches, when I tapped the link in the email, the link would open up the item in my eBay app.  Since then, it opens up the item in my web browser.  I cannot figure out what changed nor find any setting that controls this behavior.  I’m stumped on what has changed or how to solve this.

For what it is worth, I have an iPhone 12, latest OS and the eBay app is up to date.

Recently within 2-3 days I click link in firefox and am being transferred to app and app transfers me to safari. How crazy that is? Can it just stay where it was clicked- firefox? If i want to use app I will open app. There is no need for Ebay to leave cookies in every browser I am using on my device.

issue like that is ongoing. That is my main reason why I keep deleting the app- when I don’t want to be forwarded. I install app to crop /edit pictures since it works better there.

There is a setting that controls whether eBay browser links open in the eBay app or in a browser.

Sometimes an app update alters the setting one way or the other.

For iOS users, if you have an eBay link in a browser that is not behaving the way you want, tap and hold that link. You should see three options: always open in the app, don't open in the app, or always ask. If you select one of those options, it should be remembered -- at least until the next app update.

Yeah I know of this trick but am tired of using tricks all the time for everything pats 2 years. I am tired of reporting issues because you report one thing they break another while fixing it. Plus the issues come and go - they fix one day and it comes back in 3. 
The worst is standard ads  and search that interfer with major site for everyone buyers, sellers, ebay and its shareholders.

ads should encourage you to invest more and more. When you invest and nothing happens there is nothing to make me invest a little bit more. I raise rate by 1% and not even a nudge in more sales or regular sales or even views or even impressions- nada. Ebay told me I am not doing suggested rate - but wait there is lots of numbers between 2% and 12% (suggested) so it is not supposed to work between those numbers? What aboutitems I promote close to suggested and they get 0 views in 90 days? What about newly listed getting 0 views for several weeks. EBAY is broken and it took them 2 years to distory prosperity for everyone and fun in the end.

It is just to much too control and remember to use that trick. I just delete the app when I am done improving pictures and don’t have to prevent forwarding to ńumerous apps and browsers. Sometimes I think they transfer on purpose to make you test and notice features they upgraded on app.
