I had won an item but after pressing “Confirm and pay”, it prompts message “Please check your payment details or use a different payment option”. My credit card works fine because subsequent to the purchase rejection on eBay , I successfully made an online purchase on another web store with the same credit card.
Ebay chat assistant told me to wait 24 to 48 hours before attempting to purchase the item again. I had purchased over 20 times in eBay and did not encounter such situation. I highly doubt waiting 24 to 48 hours would clear up the issue. The seller may end up cancelling my winning item and give me an item unpaid strike….

You appear to be registered in Hong Kong.
Does your seller actually ship to Hong Kong? If not, the seller may not be set up to receive your payment.

Gift Cards. Just use gift cards in the meanwhile until they fix this mess. Apparently its happening to hundreds of people. Not just to people out of the country. As ebay has said, just wait to try at different times. Its annoying. Gift cards seem to circumvent the issue for the time being.

If you are using chrome try to log in from a new Incognito tab or if you are using Edge try to log in using a New private window. Then try to pay through that. It worked for me. I got this idea from an eBay agent. I also had the same issue so I contacted eBay customer service.

Before this issue, I had successfully purchased on eBay over 20 times. I am in HK but I ship the purchase items to a shipping forwarder in the US. Apparently, the eBay agent said my account is flagged. I guess I bought too many items as a new account member (account opened last month).
