I was able to reply one time about 45 minutes ago using my phone, but then it went back to acting the way it does on my desktop.
I really hope ebay addresses this!

Several people are but doesn't look like eBay cares or knows. It's definitely something ebay is doing. The pictures for all the listings look different now too when searching the listings. They have 2 dots beneath them.

A lot of people are having problems with messages. Click the ? icon on the lower right of the page, then near the bottom of that pop up select the option to file a tech report. (If on the app you can shake to report.) The more people reporting, the higher priority it gets from eBay.
In the meantime, you may have luck using the app instead of a browser or vice versa.

Hi the same here on my accounts too. ive reported it but told to wait 12/24 hrs and then try again which is no good if i need to respond to buyer questions and also for things ive asked buyers about.
anyone have update as seems its happening to a lot of peoples accounts

Are you able to respond to buyer questions using a browser on a desktop computer? Or using the eBay app?
Or to respond directly to eBay message emails, if you have your messages forwarded to your email account?

June 23 and 24 many EBAY users are reporting their messages are not opening and they are unable to send , receive or read their EBAY massages . It appears this is occurring on phone and desk top browsers only. I called EBAY customer service yesterday ( June 23, 2025) to report the issue . They were unaware of the problem. A work ticket was created but the issue has not been resolved as of yet . Contact eBay ASAP to let them know this function is not working now for two days.

Hi I only have desktop computer and still cant reply or access any messages. ive tried different browser, deleted cache and cookies etc still doesnt work
reported to ebay and just told me they had reported it and wait 12-24 hrs
not worked since this morning

Are you using a browser on a desktop computer? Or the eBay app on a phone?
Which browsers have you tried? Try another, or a private or incognito browser window.

Try a private or incognito browser window to rule out a problem with your browser cache or cookies, even though you deleted cache and cookies already. Sometimes a corrupt cookie can cause an issue.
If you can read your email you should be able to read and respond to your new eBay messages via email, if you set your Communication Preferences to forward messages from members to your email inbox. Reply to the email without using the blue "reply" button in the message.
