Unable to enter shipment tracking number "tracking number already in use"

and

3 sessions total 3 hours which I have spent with Ebay support without any results and anxious buyer still expecting to see tracking info.

I have  a paper receipt with unique tracking number in my hand and Ebay just doesn't see the problem.

Anyone can sabotage anyone on Ebay this way for more serious results.

Have you messaged your buyer, giving them the tracking number you have the receipt for?  I would do that right away if you haven't.  I would also go on the USPS site and see what that tracking number says just to have that info also.

did you enter the wrong tracking number (number you are now trying to enter) for a different item< that causes such......

It's an international shipment to USA and USPS doesn't make all inbound tracking public, therefore it's available only through Ebay system. I have sent to buyer a copy of receipt with tracking number but in USA it's just a slip of paper without any meaning when there is no Ebay tracking.

Yes, I have thought of this might be quite possible and somehow even may be likely ...

But if I copy pasted anything wrong accidentally then I fixed it instantly and now I have checked all entered tracking numbers and there are no duplicates.

I suspect it may be quite possible but why then Ebay keeps still track of this, when it has had been erased 2 weeks ago?

From security aspect even more severe vulnerability, if users can enter multiple values to this field.

I hadn't realized you weren't a US seller when I first replied.  If the item is originating in Finland then I don't know how to help.  So sorry.

This is a way around that in the US, I'm not sure if it will work in Finland :

Create an alias tracking number for each additional item @kinsman.trading, like this:

Combined item #2 -- At eBay, enter the alias

420 + last 5 digits of item number + actual tracking number

and so on. For example, if the item number is xxx12345 and the tracking number is 998877zzz:

420 + 12345 + 998877zzz = 42012345998877zzz

Another flaw is why USPS doesn't make this tracking public.

At sender side and international post tracking ends with record "delivered to abroad"  and nothing on USPS site.

Once I even called to USPS support with delivery issue but local post clerk couldn't see this tracking number and claimed "doesn't exist".

When Ebay tracking stated "no authorized recipient" to sign at home. This was correct.

You enter 420 + the last 5 digits of the item number + the actual tracking number, 420 must get you by the Ebay algorithm which is keeping you from entering a duplicate number. Programmers many times code a way around requirements for themselves and maybe the CS people.

Sometimes Ebay lets me enter a duplicate tacking number for combined shipping items, and sometimes they don't, this has always worked and the tracking shows up on both Ebay and the USPS website for me with the longer tracking number on both sites.

I'm not sure how it works in Finland
