I have two eBay accounts. In my personal (and communications) preferences I had two separate email addresses for each. I cancelled one of my emails and tried to add the same email address to both of my eBay accounts. Guess what? eBay will not let me do that. I get a message saying that that email address is already being used. Of course it is, it is my account. I want to use the same email for both of my accounts, but eBay won't let me. What's the solution? Any thoughts? Would be appreciated.

eBay has never allowed this, so your only solution is to get another email address to use with the second account.
eBay allows you to use your email address to log on, in case you forget your user ID. Because of that you can't use the same address for more than one account.

Some mail providers allow you to have more than one email address point to the same inbox.

Adding to the great advice already offered:
If memory serves, eBay requires you to click a confirmation message on the original email when you submit an email address change. Hopefully that cancellation wasn't instantaneous and you still have access so you can sort this out. If the email is gone and you have trouble validating a new email, come back for more help.
