Trading 20958 messaging error

Hi, I was asking a seller a question about an item and sent an email. Nothing showed in the SENT file, so, I sent it again. Finally, it did show and the seller responded. When I tried to reply, the Messaging Error: Trading 20958 appeared. It looks like either the seller or eBay has blocked me. Now, when I send any email to any seller, nothing at all shows in the SENT file. Is this a glitch? I’m at a loss. It’s still hard to believe I was blocked for asking questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Did you include your personal eMail address in the eBay message?

There's a glitch with the new message format @timoda2 . Sent messages will not appear in your sent folder until/unless the other person replies.

Honestly, I'm not sure why the Sent folder even exists with the new format since it's not like traditional email - it's more of a chat format or text format with all messages on the same window.

Adding more context: eBay initially programmed the new message system without a Sent folder since it's superfluous and only added it because there was an outcry from buyers/sellers that longed for the old format. Because the Sent folder was not initially part of the plan, it has some quirks like this little bit of a glitch noted above. Perhaps it was a rush job to add it and appease those that were asking for it. 🤷

As for the error, I believe that appears when:

"You have reached the limit on the number of messages you can send about this item each day."

You should be able to reply to the seller tomorrow.

No, I never, ever put in email, phone or any other personal info. My emails are just questions about the product they are selling and always in an extremely polite manner.

Thank you for explaining that to me. I’m an older guy and I like the old format, I like seeing my sent/reply folders. Hopefully eBay will work out the glitches. Again, thank you, you have been very kind. Happy New Year to you!
