I, too, was having the same issue and can confirm that this fix above works. I can also confirm that in the less than 2 weeks in which I have been selling on ebay it has been rife with technical difficulties. There seems to be one in every step of the process, and I've also learned that ebay turns on some **bleep** accept offers on my listings automatically after a few days despite how I chose NOT to have this option, simply because I used the simplified listing process.
I'll give it a few more weeks, but if this is the status quo with being a seller on ebay I will be going to back Etsy. Their interface is way better and in 3 years there I had less technical issues than I have in weeks on ebay. I think their fees may be less because there is no Paypal to take an additional cut (although they do make you participate in offsite adds which take an unreasonable percentage of the sale.) And there is no unpaid item **bleep** there either.
