TRACKING NUMBER SHOWS DELIVERED TO ANOTHER STATE AND NOT RECEIVED

Had an item sold on 6/24 which I shipped on 6/25. On 6/26 it shows as delivered. The buyer sends me a message it wasn't received. I check to see if maybe I made a mistake. Oddly, while looking at the tracking I see it went to California instead of Maryland, and shipment date was 6/21. Makes no sense at all. I reach out to the buyer and tell her I will speak to the post office and not to worry she is protected as a buyer. I spoke to the post master whom called the California post master and they are looking into it. I was told they feel the tracking number was stolen. Another strange thing is, the drop off shows my post office location. Monday they will be able to see where my package is, even that its a duplicate number. I thought it would arrive today but the buyer did not confirm that. I changed my password to be safe. Anyone else have this issue?

Sounds like a truckload of mail was mis-scanned as delivered.

Yep, happening here also. Latest one was supposed to go to Texas and got delivered in Florida. I checked all my orders that shipped that day and one day both directions. I had sold zero to Florida so I know it was not a mistake of mine.

Do you know if your package reached the buyer yet? It should still be delivered if the buyer hasn't confirmed it. We won't be able to tell,  on our ebay app or USPS site, however the post office can tell you. They have the capability. My buyer says they haven't recieved it yet. Tomorrow I'll know more.

Yes, thank you. I've been reading your posts and replies, and have done your suggestions using the ticket alert#.

My issue wasn't showing as delivered before I purchased the label, it was after. I'm very concerned that it was also showing my post office as the orginal shipment intake location.  

This appears to be going on a few days with slightly different scenarios for each seller. eBay says they identified but all that means is they are aware of something, it shouldn't be taking this long. I'm fortunate to have only 1 buyer to address.
