Store Issue: Can't Move / Change / Delete Categories

Hi,

Been trying to move some categories around in my store since last night.  Keep getting this message:  You cannot delete categories until we've completed your previous request.

I had this come up a couple of months ago and tried a different browser.  That worked.  This time, however, I've tried Edge, Chrome & Firefox without success.

Anyone from eBay here that can tell me when this issue will be resolved?  Going on 14 hours now.

Thanks

Warren

Not so fast.

CAN rename.

CAN'T Delete, Move, or Add.

Looking to do a big upload, but need the categories set.  Guess I'll chill for a while and come back in a couple of hours.  Hopefully set for good by then.

Thanks

Warren

Re: Store Issue: Can't Move / Change / Delete Categories

You cannot delete categories if there are active listings using them.

You have to move those listings out of those categories to a different category before deleting them and it also takes time to process, it will not happen right away.

It has nothing to do with the browser.

This is really a great system.  What's the sense of having this board if no one at eBay even bothers to respond?  This is what I pay 25% of my sales for?  What a joke.

@matchbookrelics

What's the sense of having this board if no one at eBay even bothers to respond?

These discussion boards are primarily for users to ask questions and exchange tips, advice, workarounds and best practices. Although there are a few eBay folks that may read the boards, for the most part they respond rarely, and usually only  regarding narrow policy issues when specifically called upon to do so. If someone works for eBay you can spot that because they will have "eBay" in their username.

For selling-related issues, you may be better off posting on the Selling board -- far more users read that board, and a much higher percentage of those users are likely to have encountered the same problem and may be able to offer practical suggestions.

If you are looking for an official response from eBay, you may want to raise your question during one of the weekly chat sessions:
