Still can't add item to collection

Firefox 54 on Windows 7.

When I try to add an item to a collection I get an error like "There was a system error." This was an error the morning of yesterday 8/1 and it's still a problem today. This normally works with all my FF plug ins so it must be on Ebay's end.

Or could Ebay not like my VPN? My VPN was running at home and I got the error, and I'm at work without a VPN and I still get the error.

I just read through Ebay's Disclaimer, and it states:

We try to keep our Services safe, secure, and functioning properly, but we cannot guarantee the continuous operation of or access to our Services

In addition, to the extent permitted by applicable law, we (...) are not liable, and you agree not to hold us responsible, for any damages or losses (...) resulting directly or indirectly from: (...) glitches, bugs, errors, or inaccuracies of any kind in our Services.

Basically they do not need to care about any misfunctions on their website and all eBay users agree to these terms when they use the website 

Oh, and I forgot to say that I have the same issue. I also cannot add any images to my Guides.

Ebay informed me the following:

We made a change with new feature, “Add to Collections”, “Add to Wish List” and “Add to New List” options will be removed from the main View Item Page. We are trying to improve engagement with items by increasing the prominence of the “WATCH BUTTON”. With this new feature, it will be no longer applicable to create collections but you will be able to see the items regrouped per categories when you add it items to your watch list.

This test will be conducted for several weeks and then it will end. Tests are designed to focus on certain capabilities to determine the impact on many marketplace factors such as sales, returns, and not as described cases. Please note that if a test demonstrates measurable adverse impact, it will be discontinued

I suppose it means that they are removing (have removed) the collection feature all together.

I just joined a few days ago. I had liked the idea of a collections feature, as I like to organize, and it kind of made it feel more like a store. But from the begining it has not worked for me, now I'm thinking of forgeting Ebay all together and just sticking with Amazon.

As you point out, this could be the end of collections as we know them. 😞

People uses their Collections for different reasons:
Wish-lists, Sentimental reasons or things that you owned in the past.
There are tons of stuff/uses that cannot be regrouped automatically.

I have been using Collections to group "Spareparts & Tools" for different projects.
Since collection began to fail ( long time ago ), I have created documents with links & descriptions.
Very old-school, very slow.... But it works.

Just because ebay-geeks have AI-girlfriends doesn't mean that the rest of us are robots. 😉

April 19 2018, i made some collections for parts for my new bike...  when i came back to check it and add more things the collections where not there. dissapeared. i lost hours of searching because of this. i have to do it all again and now i CANT make new collections or add things to collections already made before. 

only adding to watch list and now i have suspension parts separated from bike stickers because they are ""different categories"" and all is a chaos of very different things not grouped and in fact mixed with other stuff.

eBay got rid of that feature some time ago.
