I see this when trying to return an item.
i hit return, select the ‘defective’ option. Enter a reason and submit it. I see a spinny wheel for a few seconds then ‘Something went wrong. It’s not you, it’s us. Please go back and try again.’
I get the same in the app, the website and on different computers too.. it’s been like that for over a week.
how can i get some actual help from eBay??

I see you are registered in the UK, but you are currently posting on the US ebay.com discussion boards. Possibly you have followed a bad link to get here.
Any return will have to be made on the same site that the purchase was made on; if you purchased on ebay.co.uk, you will need to start the return there.

If you continue to have problems, check to see if the original item is still listed on the site; if the item has been removed by eBay, you may have to pursue a case through PayPal or your payment method instead of eBay.
