For the past 2 months when i check my recently viewed items there are items that are showing up that I have never personally viewed myself. I have been in contact with eBay at least 30 times to resolve this issue as I have also noticed that when I check sign ins and security that there are signs from campbell, california and also from the united kingdom.i do not live in either place. I have changed my email password three times already and I have also changed my eBay password three times already and I also have two step authentication set but somehow someone is still getting into my account.ebay has been of no help at all as i have been told from the many many ebay customer service ppl,”IT specialist” and supervisors all conflicting stories about what is going on and no one seems to have an answer or even care. I have been treated extremely rudely by just about everyone I have been in contact with at eBay and I have been hung up on by several eBay employees just for simply asking a question of why this problem has not been resolved for almost 2 months now. that is not the way to treat a valued customer as eBay likes to tell you that you are. Meanwhile all they want to do is say whatever it is they have to say just to get the conversation with you to end.i have also been told by ppl that work for ebay that there was a global hack on april 7 of 2025 on ebay originating out of india and it was from someone who is employed by ebay. as eBay states when you call them at the beginning of the conversation they tell you that the phone calls are being recorded for training purposes. So all they have to do is go back and listen to the conversations that I have had with at least 30 different employees to show that their employees are even telling me on a recorded line that eBay supplies that there has been a hack as I was also told that on April 7 of 2025 that somebody tried gaining access to my account. If anyone has experienced these same things and has any info please share them with this group or if anyone has any suggestions or a solution I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you all for your time.

If customer service forgets to log out of your account before moving on to the next person, they may be looking at items while logged in to your account. eBay has CS reps all over the world, so my guess is that's may be what's happening. The fact you've called "at least 30 times" ... if that's not an exaggeration then that's a heck of a lot of calls and could explain why this "keeps happening."
Go to recently viewed here and clear the history. After that, if the problem recurs when you have not contacted CS, come back for more help.
As for this part:

Can you provide the date and approx time of that call? If you can provide the exact date then we can ask an eBay rep to review that call.

I cleared all of the items that have been viewed just right now as I have been doing for the past almost 2 months and they keep reappearing. As for the phone call from your employee it would be in April of this year As I don’t have an exact date but I can pretty much estimate that it would be most likely the week after April 7. If you go back and listen to your recordings of the phone conversations that I have had with your company for the past month you can Here all of the things that I have been told and promised and none of what I was told or promised has happened and nothing has been resolved. You seem to take issue with me calling 30 times. This is not by choice as I am not the one that works for eBay and made this mistake. I have my own job that I get paid for just like you do working for eBay. The difference is that with me I treat my customers with the utmost respect unlike your company who treats customers with very little respect and very little care as I stated I have been hung up on numerous times and treated disrespectfully numerous times just for asking a simple question of why is this happening and why is it taking two months to resolve and I keep getting promises that someone will get back to me within 24 to 72 hours and that has not happened in two months. This is for your company and your employees to figure out as you work for them. I do not work for eBay nor do I get paid by eBay. I have been beyond patient with eBay and very respectful with everyone that I speak with that is employed by eBay but over and over again I am told a different story every single day. Maybe try honesty and respect with your customers instead of rudeness and no solutions.

Hi,just writing back to you as you had said in previous post to delete anything that was viewed and if anything showed up to come back here for help before contacting CS. I already have five items that have showed up in my recently viewed Section and I have not contacted eBay about it. And this has only been a matter of hours since we discussed this. Any help would gladly be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

If that were happening to me I would change my eBay password, change my email password, check my eBay account closely for any changes to contact information, delete any linked social media accounts or change those passwords as well and examine my computer for signs of remote access.

Hi, I have already changed my email password three times in the past month and I have also changed my eBay password three times in the past month and I am not on any social media sites whatsoever. I have checked for any discrepancies or changes with anything on my end and there isn’t anything except for some signs that are appearing every day from Campbell California and London. As stated in previous post this has been an ongoing issue for two months now and I have reached out to eBay numerous times and have gotten no resolution. I literally don’t know what else to do?thank you for your response and trying to help. I truly appreciate it.

Are you using two-factor authentication to sign in to eBay?
You may not be on any social media sites, but a social media site can be linked to your eBay account; if one is, delete it.

Hi, thank you for your response and yes I am using two factor authentication. I always have been and as for the social media I do not have any social media connected to my eBay account and I do not have any social media accounts at all and never have. thank you for your time and also thank you for trying to help me out. It is truly appreciated. What I am most likely going to end up doing is just completely canceling my account with eBay as it is just not worth my time or effort or the hassle anymore. Plus the things I buy off of eBay I can buy from their competitors who actually care about their customers. Again thank you for your time and for trying to help me.💯👍🏻😎

My guess is that your account hasn't been hacked and no one is viewing items on your account.
I suspect some strange algorithm based on your searches, posts and CS calls makes it appear that you have done searches that you haven't done (organically).
With 2-factor authentication, it's nearly impossible that what you think is happening is happening.

You have not mentioned any action on your part to do scans for anti-virus or malware.
Your system may be compromised and changing your password may not be an adequate remedy because your new password may be being captured by another party.
Depending on the mechanism for two-factor authentication, it may be compromised as well.

Hi, Thank you for the suggestion and the reply I truly appreciate it. A scan For antivirus and malware has already been done as a family member of mine is a cyber crime investigator and Has already completed those tasks and is looking into this further as this could possibly turn into a criminal case with the bad actor being prosecuted in court if that’s what it turns out to be. thank you for your time and for your help and please don’t hesitate to send me any other info or ideas that you may have that you think would be helpful. Thank you so very much.

If you want to see if anyone accessed your account look at you Browsing History Report and study the IP Addresses.
Your Browsing History Report will show the IP Addresses of all who accessed your account within the last 30 days in addition it will show the date and time, what they looked at (Item Id) and what they searched for (Search Query).
Here is a sample of what it looks like. On mine, every address for a PC is mine and no others. This is because my PC is not portable. For a Phone the addresses vary because as I move about I would be using different IP addresses.
Date | Device Type | Search Query | Item Id | Referrer | Session Start Date | Page Name | IP |

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for your time and for your response and for your assistance in trying to help me. I truly appreciate it. I have a family member who is a cyber crime Investigator and is looking into what is possibly going on with my account and if there is a bad actor involved they will be identified and prosecuted to the fullest in court. If that happens to not be the case and it’s just a glitch then all will be well hopefully. Thank you again for your time I truly appreciate it. Thank you very very much.
