Shipping issues

I had 6 orders that needed shipping.  Got through 5 of them and then the 6th order gave me a label which was tied to my buyer but the tracking number was to a previously sold item by a different seller that was already delivered.  System doesn’t show its shipping and won’t let me update it.  Had to contact my buyer to let them know we’re working on resolving the issue but if it can’t be resolved we’re going to have to go to usps to get one and message the buyer with a tracking number.

I should have said, I successfully requested to cancel the label on this page https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/seller-hub

I am now waiting to see if a refund for the label will go through.

Ah I see… I just get this I can’t even request.… hopefully they resolve this soon and properly refund all of us.. my package already shows delivered on eBay and usps but to the wrong state and I just made the label today 🤦

Had the same issue this morning. At the time the agent never heard of this problem before and nothing was reported at the time. Now I see I am not alone which doesn't surprise me. This might be turning into something big which Ebay & USPS need to fix.

I had to call customer service and they voided/refunded the label for me and I repurchased a new label via ebay. I hear it can happen twice in a row so I will use pirateship next time

There are issues with eBay USPS labels today. This type of problem has happened before and it's usually resolved within a day or two tops. See if labels are back to normal on Monday and if they are not you can go to pirateship.com and get the same rates for all USPS services.

 

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Cancel from the Actions drop-down. The cancel option is available for 28 days.

 

It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label as the carrier wants to make sure the label isn't used. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

Hello- 1.- For labels like mine which show they are in the United States and not delivered you cannot void a label per USPS rules. I printed  mine out today and has not even been supplied to the post office yet and it shows it in Greensboro North Carolina. 2. I receive discounts because of my seller status using eBay labels so I will not get my discounts if I use pirate ship or usps.com.

If the system will not let you void because there's already tracking you can contact eBay CS and have them process the cancellation, or you can wait it out as eBay will (if history is any indication) most likely take care of sellers and automatically apply label credits for impacted transactions. I'm sure eBay reps will post here on Monday with an update - they're not usually around on weekends.

 

For most packages under 20 lb you should see the same rate on eBay and pirate as that extra 3% TRS discount exclusively on Priority isn't going to kick in unless you're being charged the commercial rate.

 

I haven't seen the full on commercial rate apply except to certain zip codes (as of Sept 16th) below 20 lbs, to certain zip codes (as of Sept 16th) on flat rates, or to all zip codes above 20 lbs when cubic rates don't apply.

Thanks- I am going to wait until tomorrow afternoon to see if anything is resolved .   I am lucky  with only one label affected right now as I bet many eBay sellers have multiple labels affected. I believe this is at least a major issue in which there should be eBay reps around to have it appropriately addressed. And it may not be eBay's issue but due to the volume of people affected somebody needs to get an answer.

From what I've seen @jaslyns_vintage_finds_n_more , the teams that fix things when stuff like this happens do work on weekends. But the team that responds to public posts on this forum works M-F.

 

If you need an answer tomorrow you can contact CS, but if you can wait until Monday the community team will usually post an update here.

 

I didn't purchase any eBay labels today, but if I was personally impacted, I would wait to see if eBay labels are working tomorrow. If not, I'd buy labels through Pirate for Monday's shipments and I'd wait to see what eBay says about labels already purchased - whether they will proactively take care of it or if sellers are required to contact customer service to cancel these labels. In my view, it's not going to hurt to wait a couple days rather than spend time contacting CS when you might not need to.

I went and printed the ones that were giving me issues on pirate ship.  I actually got a better rate through them on the shipping for that one.  I tried to print again today on eBay crossing my fingers and so far all of them printed out with no issues.  Hope yours is better too!

I would reach out to eBay.  That happened to me the second time I tried to print through them.  The item showed delivered.  When eBay confirmed it wasn’t my item they issues me a credit for the second time.  The first one though I have to wait a couple days for usps to credit me back.

Use pirate ship in the meantime.  Another seller suggested that to me and it worked pretty well.  I tried again today to ship through eBay and so far I haven’t had any issues.  Still have more to ship out, praying it doesn’t happen again.

Reach out to eBay, they did an instant credit back to me when they saw it wasn’t tied to my buyers address.
