I had 6 orders that needed shipping. Got through 5 of them and then the 6th order gave me a label which was tied to my buyer but the tracking number was to a previously sold item by a different seller that was already delivered. System doesn’t show its shipping and won’t let me update it. Had to contact my buyer to let them know we’re working on resolving the issue but if it can’t be resolved we’re going to have to go to usps to get one and message the buyer with a tracking number.

I've never heard of that happening. How did you know/suspect (?) your tracking number's history? 🤔

When I went into the system it still showed that the item needed to be shipped even though it charged me for a label and gave me the QR code for it. I went ahead and printed the label out and thought maybe it’s just a technical issue. So I marked the item as shipped and went to manually enter the tracking and that’s when it said the tracking number was assigned to another seller. I went to usps tracking online and entered it in to see and it showed the item was delivered sept 24 even though the label printed out with my buyers name and shipping address on it. So bizarre I’ve never had this happen before. I also had the issue where my item sold but it never showed in the funds on my side, eBay is trying to resolve that issue too.

I had this problem this morning as well. I bought about 20 labels and noticed that about half of them had tracking numbers that were already in use. I spoke with support, and they advised me to void the labels that were duplicated. They also advised me to use another shipping service like Pirate Ship to print my labels today. You can connect your eBay account to it. It seems that some others are having the same issue. I would double check the other tracking numbers that you received today, because they might be duplicated too. The 1 tracking number that you noticed was because it happened to be a tracking number used by another eBay seller.

Thank you! I didn’t even think to check the other ones but I’m going to now. It seems they have quite a few glitches happening lately, hoping they can resolve things soon so this kind of stuff doesn’t keep happening.

They told me to void the label and purchase another one and it did the same thing again 🤦🏻‍♀️. I’m gonna get it on that platform you recommended instead.

I had this same issue 3 times today out of a dozen items I shipped. I called ebay and they are going to credit me back and I had to re-print new labels. They said they have a ticket open to fix this, so I'm going to wait til later tomorrow to ship anything else. Hopefully they fix it fast.

I don't want to have to use another label generator.

This just happened to me as well. I printed a shipping label and it would not add the tracking info or mark the item as shipped. When I tried to manually post the tracking, it said the label had been used by another customer.

I went to USPS and the tracking showed the item had been delivered on 9/26, two days ago.

I cancelled the label, but I wonder if there will be a problem getting refunded. It says if you don't scan the tracking, they will issue a refund. But these tracking numbers have been scanned and even show delivered! So will USPS issue the refund? Does USPS even have access to know what seller bought the label?

Same issue here. I had a customer reach out saying that their item was delivered today but it wasn't in their mailbox. He then added that it was delivered to the wrong state. When I looked into it, it was one that I hadn't even shipped yet. I printed the label this morning... And was still in my box of packages to go to the post office. It's bound for Texas, but it's tracking number says it was delivered in Alabama at about the time I printed the label.

After looking more into it, I had three other packages that did that, as well as two packages that I bought labels for and my eBay refuses to let me Mark the packages as shipped or input tracking numbers.

I'm going to hold off using eBays system until I about a fix on this one, as it's created quite the headache.

Edit: after looking closer, I have 4 with previously used tracking numbers.

devon@ebay I had the same issue this morning. I ended up voiding (canceling) the label and purchasing another label.

Here is a screenshot from the USPS website with the tracking information from the label that had to be voided because it was already used.

I am wondering the same thing ↑↑↑ devon@ebay are we going to have problems getting refunds for these voided (canceled) labels since they have been scanned previously by USPS and show delivered?

Same exact thing happening to me… labels / tracking already show delivered to different states than my buyer and originated from a different state than myself.

contacted eBay on Twitter and they keep telling me to purchase another label which is quite frustrating. They told me they can’t issue a refund either since the issue is ongoing and refunds will be issued automatically once solved but I highly doubt that. Not sure what to do and quite frustrating wish I just waited until Monday to pack stuff

also cannot void the labels since they have already been used so just stuck as don’t want to buy more labels until this is resolved since I already spent money on used labels.

I got purchased a USPS Ground label with the same problem. The system will not let me void the label because "This shipping label can't be cancelled because it has already been used."

devon@ebay I would like to get this label refunded. (Ends in 737016) I also now can't trust to purchase labels via eBay until I get notice that all bad labels have been sorted out and assurance that this will never happen again. It looks like an engineer either reverted a db table or uploaded a list of tracking numbers twice. Maybe USPS sent duplicate data, but this field should be marked unique in the db, so that would fault eBay's side.

I also worry about my previous labels in the last 24-48 hours. I only noticed I had a problem when my buyer asked how his package already said delivered!
