Shipping Fiasco

I made a typographical mistake with a prepaid label and paid approximately 7x more than what I needed to for a shipping label, after I dropped it off at the post office, ultimately resulting in a $-6 total for the item. I immediately went back to the post office to have them "cancel" the item. They marked it as returned to sender and I walked out with it. I got on and made a new label for the appropriate amount, now resulting in a $-20 balance for the whole item.

You can't track the old number anymore since it appears that it was marked as "delivered" back to me in San Diego, instead of it's intended destination of Georgia. But I also cannot cancel it since it says it has already been delivered. I really would like my $82 in shipping back...

Do I need to take this up with USPS? I cannot find any way to email or talk to a human on this website.

Re: Shipping Fiasco

You can't do ANYTHING you just did. Once printed and give to the listing/buyer (tracking number) ; there is no changing it.

Best to 'contact' buyer and tell them

a.) what you did

b.) the new tracking number

c.) hope they don't open a NOT RECEIVED or you will be refunding 100%

Re: Shipping Fiasco

You would have probably been better off letting it go through and maybe getting a refund on the over payment.

If the label was scanned, it's used and they won't refund on a used label.

Have a great day.
