Search results not showing main listing image, it's showing a random variation image.

When searching for specific products, the results are showing random MPN/Variation listing images and not the main listing image. 

This is causing confusion as it looks like the listing only has one product, and not multiples that would typically be found in a Variation listing.

You would have to upload your image to a photo hosting site,

then type in the address of the photo in html code in the description.

Would be nice if one could drag and drop the variation  images

into the description... that would enable a more detailed description

of each variation.

Watching your listing so I know when this glitch is fixed! 🙂

Yesterday in the community weekly chat Tyler@ebay said they have no update at this point! My main sales are my variation listings ive changed my focus to individual listings for now I just cant understand why eBay makes changes that break a very huge feature its like they dont backend test before releasing whatever update or change was made. If its not fixed for next weeks chat you guys should make sure you join and bring it up again. I dont understand how its not actually brought up as a bigger issue!.. Shoe sellers clothing sellers are huge and variations are what make those listings move. We are going on 3 weeks of the feature being broken.

As mentioned before, I have been having the same problem and just got off the phone with eBay. I was told the ticket for this issue was created on June 13th and it should be resolved by July 3rd. I also found out that not everyone is having this issue, it is not an across-the-board problem. So I added my name to the ticket.

My variations are showing up as the main photo as well. The most frustrating thing is that my variations are artwork options that can choose to engrave on our product - BUT THE CUSTOMER CANNOT TELL WHAT THE PRODUCT IS!!!!! Sales have crashed and the only sales i am making are my older listings without variations. VERY disappointed in ebay.

I am seriously considering filing a complaint at the BBB Institute for Marketplace Trust https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started

Do they not realize that on the side of here there are people with obligations, bills to pay, children to feed? They should at least give an official satisfaction about this. It is unfortunate that eBay does not value the affected sellers and abandon them to contempt.

I've contacted eBay 6 times. this month about my main picture not showing on 90% of my listings, instead a color variation is showing.  Yes, this has hurt my sales, & yes every time I've contacted them they have told me it is a glitch that they are working on fixing & they will add my report of the problem to the appropriate dept.  I'm documenting all my contacts & chats & if they don't fix this soon I will contact an officer of eBay, if it still doesn't get fixed....I'll give it a couple weeks.   I print catalogs from 3D sellers but can't because the main picture is not showing, this is affecting more than my eBay sales! 

 I would be willing to explore a class action lawsuit on behalf of the sellers who. are having this problem.  This has happened with me with a couple listings in the past but not to this extent.  I will look on this board for updates.

Looks like my variation listing is now showing the correct main images again.  Hopefully everyone else's is doing the same.

I almost got excited when I saw your main

photo showing too this morning!

Then I refreshed and the variation photo came back.

This is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for the fix!

to know of all these glitches hurting eBay

sales. Every time they have put in a new CEO

we get all these new glitches.

Item specifics are free?

Does that mean we will soon have to pay to

describe our items??? Half the time the suggestions

for item specifics are not even applicable.
