Search is BUSTED...AGAIN!

Here we go ....again.

Numerous searches performed.  

I am seeing it shows a stated number of search results, ie...10...15...20....but only shows 1 or 2 items? Hit search, with NO other changes, and the number of results stays the same but now I see 1-2 other compleletely different resulst? Open a new Tab, run the same search...same type of results. Close all windows, open a new one, repeat...same type result. 

Ok...where are all the other items from the search result? 10 results and you show me 1 Sponsored listing in the results, as the ONLY results?

Sorted by best matchSorted by price I just noticed this while listing tonight. It matters how you sort them... kind of.... It has to do with sorting. But It says 5 results and I get 3 (or 1). I attached photos. This is just one example. I know why my listings are getting little to no views. Why am I paying ebay for this??

I called Merchant Support...once again, the same answer. Claiming it was not a known issue. 

This is now one of at least a dozens of issues I have been waiting for, to be answerd, resolved...and NOTHING. It is beyond sickening to have to keep calling for months and years and to hear "No, this is not an issue, I will open a ticket"....AGAIN!

I even copy-pasted entire item names *from their pages* and search didn't find it. Something got seriously screwed up since this afternoon EST.

Same problem for me. Did a search while I was signed in on my PC, came back saying 9 results but only shows ONE listing. I did the same exact search on my phone, classic site, not signed in, all 9 results show up. Now I can't value the listings I was going to put up because I can't see all the current and past results! Not to mention the people who paid for those listings not getting a view either. Unreal.

That's why my sales have stopped>$ Finding same problem on search results. I found out by researching why items stopped selling. Almost all of the listings that i checked i would type in the title and my listings wouldn't show. It would show a # of results but only one listing, not mine.  Hard to sell when when items can't be found

A couple of weeks ago they deleted all but one photo on a number of our listings, that didn't help either, eBay is sure having it's problems, that's causing me problems.

To add some tech info I've noticed in my specific search: 

I was looking for a "Flotsam and Jetsam Cuatro Cassette". When I enter that, I get the glitch. If i enter just 'Cuatro Cassette', I can see all 9 listings plus a few unrelated. 

I tried another option by using the subcategories on the left side. I changed the search to take out the word 'Cassette'. When I did that, I had all forms of the item (CD, Cass. LP. etc). Using the categories on the left, the CD category when clicked showed all results. Same for LP. When I click on Cassettes though, I get only 1 out of 9 results again! That tells me it might only be certain subcategories that are affected. Not sure which ones, but it's what I found. 

Not sure ebay cares anyway.

Same hear I see diffrent variations of search terms coming out with diffrent answers.

Yes ghosted pictures, this whole platform is on the blink.

At what point does an ebay representative acknowledge all the bugs that are going on.

If you flip between best match and lowest and highets it will come back with diffrent answers.

I hate the search, When I type in Avon Earrings, I get 3,656 But when I type in Avon Vintage earrings I get 4, 619..... Is Avon Earrings NOt All Avon earrings... When I type in Avon earrings I want to see all Avon earrings... This is so messed up.

Using the search bar from the main eBay page:

When I search for "avon earrings" (without quotes), the search automatically limits itself to the Earrings category, and finds only 3655 results. If I then select "All Categories" and search again, I get 12,095 results.

If I search for "avon vintage earrings", the search finds 4616 in all categories.

If I search for "avon earrings vintage", the search limits itself to the Costume category, and finds only 3357 results.

The search engine is limiting your search results to different categories depending on the words or even word order of your search. Note that this is not new behavior. Just another quirk of the search engine to be aware of, not related to the error noted in the original post.
