Search for products ONLY yields result of recently viewed item

I'm having a weird issue wherein if i search for any product the result is a single item that i recently viewed.

Its shows the number of search results found, but it only displays the 1 item from my recently viewed history.

Any ideas on why this is happening ?

What search are you performing?

Try another browser to rule out browser issues, preferably a recent version with no add-ons, using default settings.
