Search Results Not Showing What They Should

Sorry if there's a discussion about this somewhere else (I looked and didn't find anything). I have contacted eBay support three times by phone and several more times by email; agents forwarded this issue to tech support, and apparently it's fixed on their end, but I'm still having the issue, and I've pretty much hit a dead end with them.

When I search for certain products, relevant listings that I know exist on eBay don't show up. For example, if I search for "Dewalt DW745" in the search bar (this is a portable table saw), the top results I see are a bunch of parts and not the actual saw. Yet, if I go to google and type "Dewalt DW745 ebay", the top result takes me to an eBay page with a bunch of listings for this saw that weren't in the previous search results. Obviously these listings exist, but for some reason they don't show up when I use the search bar on eBay. At best, the saw will be in the "browse related" sidebar on the right side.

The same thing happens with the "Dewalt DW715" (a miter saw), and I'm positive that this issue exists for many other products as well.

Yes, I have tried clearing my cookies and cache, using another browser, logging out, and using another device. I get the same result.

In the attached image, the left is what I see when I search the Dewalt DW745S in the search bar, and the right is the page I get to through Google.

What I want to know is if anyone else is having this problem, or has an explanation for why this is occuring. I am an eBay affiliate and I want to be able to find the best listings to promote to my audience, but this is hard to do when the search results aren't showing everything properly.

Search Results Not Showing What They Should

OP's issue was solved in his other thread in Bidding&Buying forum.

OP is in Canada and it was a location problem - in short, eBay doesn't show Canadians search results for items that don't ship to Canada.

Maybe your iPhone vs desktop issue is the same problem. You appear to be registered in the US, but is it possible your phone geolocates you elsewhere due to mobile carrier? (wild longshot guess: tijanaroxy = Mexico?)

What happens if you use the Safari browser on the iPhone to search? Do you also get zero results?

If you do get search results returned on the iPhone using a browser, then the finger points at the app. If you also get zero results on the iPhone using a browser, then it could be that eBay is dishing up a mobile website search to Safari that differs somehow, or that it could be a location problem.

If the iPhone browser search also returns zero results, what happens if you change your location in the phone browser using an item listing shipping and payments tab? Any change?

@baca102,

Your issue is not a techinical one.  There is a reply on the Discussions > Buying & Selling > Bidding and Buying, board.  Where you originally posted.

I'm not sure what the problem is......on the left, I see 2 saws so ebay is returning saws in addition to the parts.

Would also point out that the search on the left is for Dewalt 745s

The one on the right is for Dewalt 745

No. You can see the listing for the Dewalt DW745S (not DW745) at the top on the right. When I search this model using the search bar, it doesn't appear ANYWHERE, whether at the top, at the bottom or some other page. In fact, it actually says there are 0 results (when there aren't), and they're showing some other listings. This is just one example out of many.

I've been having a similar experience with the iPhone mobile app (which I finally just uninstalled and quit using) for the past few weeks.  My own search experience problems revolved around trying to find accounting dvds. How basic is this?  On the desktop eBay site, I found plenty of what I wanted but always came up with zero matches when I was using the iPhone app and trying to conduct the same product search.
