I'm telling you everything is the exact same, it's so weird and I think this is what these other guys are experiencing. Just out of the blue all my search results come back with 50+ million. Same exact everything for my wife and I. I thought maybe I hit something or whatever by accident and I did not. Checked all her setting and mine, all the same.
I do not doubt your observations, but I still think that it is more likely that there is some difference between the two situations -- a setting, or else something in the history (cache or data).
You seem to be in a unique position of having two devices with the same version of the app installed, where one works and one does not. Unless there is a hardware difference causing this -- which seems unlikely -- then the difference is something in the software or settings. It might be worth trying to clear cache and data only on the device having problems, to see if that makes a difference. [Probably not, or someone else having the problem would have discovered that by now.]
Or possibly try to uninstall, restart your device and then reinstall the app.
I would not mess with the device that is working, in case you inadvertently update something and cause that to stop working. But for the device that is not working, it might be worth it to try some stuff.
