This thread is dedicated to reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics. Please share details including screenshots, steps to recreate, etc. This thread is not meant to be a place for in-depth discussion of the situation, but to be a  place for you to provide us detail into what you're seeing so we can pass this on to the appropriate teams.

i reported about 2 months ago that when using seller hub and printing a shipping label using ebay...if you chose "LEGAL FLAT RATE ENVELOPE" as method of shipping in your listing...WHEN YOU GO TO PRINT THE SHIPPING LABEL, IT DEFAULTS TO 1ST CLASS MAIL.   this only happens with items that showed LEGAL FLAT RATE ENVELOPE AS SHIPPING METHOD IN YOUR LISTING.

Shipping charges also show up in sales totals, and they've been doing that for a while now. Technically it's income. But it's a little odd that ebay includes the tax in our sales totals, as we aren't involved in remitting it to the state and it's normally not considered revenue anyway.

Hi, I really frustrated keep correcting and revising my listing! 

Every single time that i create a new listing or i revised them, just after almost 3 days ,when  i check them again, i see all/ or most parts of items specification are gone!

In some of them even shipping parts has changed or has missing parts also. like their weigh .

I revised several time all my listing. The last time i started August, September till first week of october took my time to revise all and filling all specifications again. But again and again i see the same.

Now i have more than 400 listing and I HAVE almost NO SALE! ( to compare to my low price and competition and the number of listing and to compare other sellers. you can see my account)

how ever my prices are low on ebay market. but i found that the reason is that If the buyer search for the same as my item, and they select just an example their clothing size from clothing size specification part, they can not find my listing! y? because my listing size ( and other item-specifications) is gone by ebay system issue, and my listing will not show up in their search!

so, i just keep wasting my time, and energy listing on ebay with NO sale, because of ebay system problem

and more, as i said i revised almost 250 listing again up to end of sep. or early fist of Oct. means just my time is wasting by ebay system problem and i get nothing rather than NO SALE!

I am not able to do anything and got frustrated by ebay problems and no selling.

Everytime i check each of my listing ( itself)again there are bunch of blank item specification there.

Please, fix permanently this Problem and issue on my account and return back IN CORRECT all my items listing specifications.and let them to be visible on ebay and search engines.

Left hand navigation is still not working.

Searched for a shirt item using keywords:  "Metal Mulisha Shirt tank".

My shirt was included in the result set.

Note that search did NOT include the size.

Clicked the size (large) in the left hand navigation and the result set NO LONGER includes my shirt item.

I have repeated this test with several shirts - all failing the same way.

The item # is 362769458383. The required size specific is entered.

When will this be fixed??? It is several weeks now.

I second the motion, @cobra22nd , and eBay is absolutely clueless regarding sports cards, so it would have behooved them to consult with actual sports card sellers in regard to item specifics. However, as you stated, there is absolutely no good reason to even add additional item specifics to sports cards, let alone make some of them mandatory, so we just need to chalk it up to eBay constantly trying to reinvent a perfectly round wheel and screwing it up royally, as always.

Specifically in the Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop > Sports Trading Cards > Auto Racing Cards category, the new mandatory item specifics are...

Sport (which is redundant, because the seller already needs to select this as a sub-category)

Grade (which is mostly irrelevant to racing cards)

Original/Reprint (although not specified what this actually refers to, I personally use it to describe an autographed card, otherwise it is irrelevant to racing cards)

Team (which is irrelevant to racing cards)

Player (which is irrelevant/redundant to racing cards, because there is already a "Driver" item specific in the sub-category, which is not mandatory)

However, I can report as of October 23 @@ 12:30h EST, when using the eBay bulk relisting utility in the Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop > Sports Trading Cards > Auto Racing Cards category and following the "Next steps for sellers:For now, you should continue providing all of the required, recommended and additional item specifics as needed." instructions in the latest subject update announcement , it STILL ONLY works with the "Edit listing individually - grouped by category" option and STILL NOT the "Edit listings in bulk" option...

With almost 40 years in software development, I know that no system is perfect.

I also know that if my group rolled out such poorly designed and implemented sw I would have lost my job on the spot.

My question - as the item specific reference data is in shambles, and needs to be removed and remapped - how are you going to handle the removal of values that were added to listings post roll out? Example: "Blouse" on a Men's shirt. Another mapping - with bogus values??

Please Please Please - will changes be made to your implementation process? Reference data wasn't vetted and/or wasn't tested. The data conversion failed miserably. The design was terrible and not vetted.

And - why would any sales company make a non-critical release in Q4???

I have worked in IT for several retail companies - and NONE would ever make a non-critical release during Q4. It was extremely difficult to change anything - even non-customer facing changes.

And with ebay's history of extremely buggy releases - it is either extreme arrogance or incompetence to think that you can do what other companies know not to do.

Have your post mortem - but hire leaders who understand how to manage software development.

I am rooting for the necessary changes to make ebay the company it used to be.

The system is populating item specifics with the wrong information. Please either ensure it is correct or don’t have it do it at all

the brand is often wrong

and when you try to type in the correct brand the app crashes EVERY TIME

today i was trying to list a dress with an animal print design

the THEME was auto inserted by the system as Anime

This is a Japanese cartoon character

I easily missed it as I never put in a theme

It makes sellers look stupid or sloppy

If you put summer dress in the title it automatically puts in Beach as a theme

There are many dresses such as party dresses which you don’t wear to the Beach

Routine edit of a listing for men's hoodie.  First thing I noticed was the Size is blank. I thought that was fixed? Entered it correctly,  go on to rest of specifics.  At the bottom I see another Size and the correct size IS entered into that one. So the specifics now has 2 places to fill in the Size and the first one was blank.  I also listed a men's shirt today and there were very FEW specifics. I had to add specifics to get some of the usual info in.

Shirts in the mens clothing dept still showing women's item specifics such as cropped,tunic. Ect. Will this be fixed?

So, I have to be honest, it's hard these days to know what is and isn't part of the system issues and I do hope that one of your Lessons Learned from this is never, ever, ever, EVER make changes to a system that is functioning during the 4th quarter of a year.

Now then, I can handle the Item Specifics that are being required, even if I do have to review them a couple times a week to be sure everything is holding or to correct everything that didn't hold. This is about your "Recommended" item details and the obscene number of details that some fashion items are listing. It's literally insane.

And you know what the absolute worst part of all that is? 97% of that obscene list doesn't even apply to normal goods. And do you know what isn't there on the list? "DOES NOT APPLY" has completely vanished -- totally! It doesn't even appear on the UPC field that pre-owned fashion will never use! And once it's entered, it will NOT add to the list of possible entries. I'm pretty sure that part is a glitch but I have a suggestion. 

For every single one of those ridiculous "specifics" that one of your OCD coders placed on the site to Create a Listing, the top two items on the caret list should be 1) Does Not Apply and 2) Unknown. The amount of time used to type these two specifics for every item being listed is just plain wasteful -- and, boy, is it annoying!!

Oh, and now my shipping method is stuck on USPS Media Mail and Free Shipping -- FYI, That is NOT my default!

See an improvement with items specifics in clothing. Noticed that all my items in 2 categories are still missing all item specifics. One's with one 1 category are fine. Specifically in Entertainment Memorabilia and other vintage categories still need to be resolved. Thank you.
