This thread is dedicated to reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics. Please share details including screenshots, steps to recreate, etc. This thread is not meant to be a place for in-depth discussion of the situation, but to be a  place for you to provide us detail into what you're seeing so we can pass this on to the appropriate teams.

Having issues with the measurements, in some listings when I re list the item the measurements disappear as well as the area where you enter them....width, length and dimensions. I have to enter the measurements in the listing since there is none under item specifics

Ditto with what was said.  I agree you absolutely need to remove the requirements until you can get the bulk editing tool to work.  I also have over 200 fixed listings that have automaticlly relisted giving me an error message I need to update item specifics.  Just for 200 it would take hours to individually update these.  Then there are the several hundred more that will be coming up for relisting soon.

 

You have not addressed sports cards in any of your notifications. 

 

I also agree that the 2 of the 4 specifics you want are already in most titles.  The other 4 would be easily updated in bulk.

 

Please, turn off the requirement until you can get the bulk editing tool to work.

SO, for years, since 2004 I have begged for search by ANSI item specifics. I need to be able to add custom item specifics that eBay does not know about; and, does not have in the program as now coded. That option is gone now. I need to be able to add certain information that is in addition to what eBay thinks is important. In all categories where there are light bulbs, we need to be able to add as many item specifics as we want. Granted it might take me a year to do all the adding of specifics each item is justified in having, but I am willing to do the work if eBay will fix the site and make it possible for me to use industry standards (and when the eBay computer is able to realize that certain keywords for sizes are meaningless - such as when an E27 base and a E26 base are the same base, with two different names, etc.) and enter each and every specification I can find. That is incredibly and uniquely important when it comes to the millions of sizes of light bulb that have been made in the last 100 years. Please get real. Stop these horrible glitches. And give me back the capacity to add as many item specifics as I want.

These technical issue are affecting my sales and business, my sales are virtually nothing.  I do sell mostly clothing (95%), and so I question your assertion that it is not affecting customer's search and my viability, and should not be impacting our sales.  IT IS IMPACTING SALES... IN A MAJOR WAY!    Please fix this, or go back to how it was before.  This is NOT the season to be messing with the platform, as people are doing holiday shopping already.  Every day this continues is lost sales for me, and I suspect thousands of other sellers.  And yet Ebay does not recognize that us sellers need to be compensated, with credits, for this super major glitch.  I am beyond frustrated.  A day would be something, but this continues now into the second week for me.  What are you going to do for me?  and others? I have been spending hundreds of dollars monthly in fees for years and years.  Get it done, or revert back... PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ebay needs to reach out to the sellers affected by this and make it right.  It is the right thing to do.  Valerie

Tried to revise a children's boot item, the required size was blank.  This had been listed about a month ago and certainly included a size.  I doubt any buyers are seeing these items that don't have the field!

October is normally the busiest time for my used/ vintage clothing items.  My sales have tanked, I am not the only one.  Buyers are not finding the items or are not able to properly filter out correct sizes, brand etc.  eBay has been doing this what over 20 years how have they possibly messed this up so badly?

only the essential,ones like size,colour,material,length, brand,sleeve length, there may be another one or two 

 

youll know what they are when you try to start the listing, it will flash up red as missing item specifics if you haven’t done the basic ones

 

the others are recommended but not essential to list, you could put any in the description if you like though, such as various measurements

there are specifics fields for measurements but it’s cumbersome scrolling through and they are not consistent in clothing category , eg there will be skirt length but not dress length, there will be pit to pit for tops but not for dresses  etc etc

my sales have virtually dropped to zero this month. i suppose ebay will still get their cut from last month though.

Still missing size in all clothes (been revising them myself one by one), most of my first class items have defaulted to priority mail shipping, iPhone app crashes every time I try to list clothes by the brand Gypsies & Moondust, and all my skirts and dresses item specifics were erased. 

So very disappointing for sellers who own stores in eBay and put so much faith into a company that was established over 20 years ago and receive no compensation from eBay's mistakes and glitches that happen every few months. Not cool eBay!

All right! Thank you for adding the dropdown menus into the new Baby & Toddler clothing categories and mapping the entries! I just edited a listing and it looks like my item is coming up correctly in search under size, color, and so on. Still missing pattern as an item specific in the form.

 

The item specifics that have the boxes but don't have the menus yet - like theme, style, country (?) - I assume that at some point eBay will be adding that information. All I ask is now is, with the subjective ones like style, that you run your menu choices by people who are familiar with the area and and can give you feedback on what makes sense and what doesn't.

Why in the world would STUDIO be a required field on a VHS tape?  And why does ENGLISH not default as LANGUAGE?  My relist would not go thru moments ago without updating this ridiculous **bleep**.  

 

This is a continuing mess -- whoever thought screwing with this during 4th quarter should be fired!

Additional fix needed for all the Baby & Toddler clothing categories under item specific "Color"-

 

In the menu, "Multicolor" is an option. "Multi-color" with a hyphen is not:

...but if you start typing the word in, "Multi-color" with a hyphen is the first term that autopopulates, with the non-hyphenated version also showing as an option:

No idea where the system is getting that from since it isn't a choice in the list, but it needs to be one or the other and most importantly match whatever eBay is using in search.

What an absolute NIGHTMARE the new Item Specifics have created for everyone across the ebay platform since October 15th!!! I still have "size" missing in my clothing, shoes and handbags that have been listed.

I am unable to send offers to buyers like before from my computer. I have received very few offers in the last week, and the offers I have sent from the mobile app I believe are not even reaching my buyers.

 

The item specifics that were implemented do not even make sense and are a big waist of time for the sellers, not to mention the buyers confusion when trying to navigate this craziness? And why now ebay??? 4th Quarter...really?

 

When will this nightmare end? We need streamlined item specifics that pertain to the item being listed...maybe then we can actually make some sales again!

When draft listing in Men's Clothing > T Shirts I enter the Brand Name using Google Chrome, save draft, then re-open in the iOS app. The Brand item specific changes to T T.
