Promotional offer activation error / glitch

I received a promotional offer from eBay List. Sell 5 for Free. Get Paid.) showing up on my homepage as well as my seller dashboard. See attached images.

Click the banner on the homepage takes me to the activate offer page and once activated returns with the error "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only." 

When i try to activate the offer from the seller dashboard by clicking "learn more" on the promo banner it returns with the something went wrong page.

I had the exact same problem. I can't imagine we are the only ones...

I have the offer as well, with the same results.

 

It was on my buying account. I thought it was just another shot to intice me to start selling on that account, so I did not click.

 

I then found it on my selling account. Clicked on it only to find that I was not invitedSmiley Sad

 

Went back to my buying account to click on the offer.  I was not invited there eitherSmiley Sad

 

Perhaps our invitations are in the mail (coming by "Smartpost (tm)8-14 day delivery time):smileywink:

 

Chalk another one up for the eBay programmers.

Actually if you log out of your eBay account and go to the eBay homepage it still shows up as one of the banners. Clicking it prompts the user to login.

Looks like they might have corrected it or pulled the promo entirely...

I called eBay about this. I got it this morning as well. They told me that even though I got the banner on my app it doesn't mean I was given the offer. It was such nonsense.

I called them too and raised the issue since the offer was showing up on my seller dashboard as well as homepage.
The rep couldn't figure it out but could see the offer in both places on my account. So they raised the issue with the technical team saying that they would get back in 48/72 hours but it could take a maximum of 5 days for a response. No resolution was offered but I was told that once they sort the issue out they will see what options they can offer.

Touched base again with the support team. Looks like they haven't even looked at my request and its still sitting in the notes. Asked me to wait another 24/72 hours and someone from the tech team would touch base with me and offer a resolution.
This is exactly what was communicated 4 days earlier. I am not happy at how this is being handled.
