Promotional Offers

I cannot add any items to my promotional offers - markdown manager or manage promotions. Even new listings do not show up at all so I cannot add them . Does anyone know if this is some sort of glitch or is it due to maintenance ? Please help

Update: I spoke with a eBay customer service rep who tried to add listings on his side to any promotions and was also unsuccessful. He said I was the first person to call about this and has forwarded the information to the proper department. He will follow up with me within 24 hours. Hopefully this gets resolved soon . Thank you

THIS IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF SELLERS AND THEY KNOW ABOUT IT!!! Contact eBay on Twitter. That seems to get a really fast response. We have been calling them more times in the past 30 days then we have in years because of this problem. They also merged Decals and Stickers with Decals Emblems and Flags and we think that promotion manager is not seeing this new category as an option to be able to start new campaigns.

The only work around we found was create your listings as usual and then find another category that will pop up in promotion managers and add it to your listing.

If you have current items in a live campaign do not end them....they are stuck in limbo where you can't create more but they are still active and working. Make sure to extend the dates out.

Markdown manager doesn't even show up for me anymore, and when I click on manage promotions it gives me a black eBay page. I can still "promote" items but only the ones that show up in the queue which generally doesn't show all of the listings that should be eligible.

You were NOT the first person to contact eBay about it - I contacted them within 24 hours of the conversion.

They told me the new Markdown Manager (and other promotions) do not carry the capability of adding new items, but they were considering adding it. The last time I spoke with them about it last fall, they said they hoped to have the option to add new listings by mid-November. Well, this is February and still nothimg.

With other promotions, if you promote items by store category, every time you add an item into that category, it will automatically place it into the promotion.

I use Markdown Manager by price, so new items do not add. I have to create a new sale every time I list an item, which is preventing me from adding as many new listings as I would have before the conversion. The hassle is incredibe! Plus, when shoppers click over to see the other items similarly discounted, there's nothing there!
