Products Ending Automatically — Still Available but Showing 'Ended' eBay Glitch?

I am seeing products showing up in "ended" that we did not end. The trend seems to happen to items that have just been purchased. You can see in your orders what the customer ordered and then you can see how many are still available. When I click on the product to verify the quantity available, the item says "ENDED". This is also happening on lots of products, in our ended listings there are so many items that are in stock with quantities available. Why is this happening? Is this an ebay defect/glitch? 

This is negatively affecting our sales when top selling products all of a sudden are shown as ended when these items are in stock.  Going through and manually reverifying inventory and making the correction of hundreds of these is a time vampire and ebay has no idea why this is happening. Waiting to hear back from the dev team. Is this only happening to our store?

Fixed price listings AKA GTC [good till cancelled] remain active until the listing is sold out.  

I can see where this would be a big problem.  Would you mind giving us some links to listings this has happened to.  Ones you haven't made any changes to at all.  That would help to try and better understand the issue.  If we can't help you, you may need to contact Ebay and report this issue.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

Can you provide a few item numbers @moodomedia ?

I looked at 10 of your sold listings at random and they were all ended out of stock or active with stock except for one.

Item 267032447003 for the Bowie vinyl shows the listing was ended with 1 item still in stock.

Purchase History page shows 2 sold, the latest on May 9 at 6:48pm, while the message at the top of the listing page says the listing was ended 6 min later on May 9 at 6:54pm with 1 still in stock.

Hello,

I spoke to a manager at eBay today. I shared that right after an item sells you can see on the order page (waiting for shipment) how many items they ordered and how many are available.  When you go to the product it shows "Ended" even though there is still stock. Why the item that was just purchased with available stock is now ending right after something was just purchased is concerning. 

I and am working through her recommendations. She was given some examples and we will be documenting issues daily so that those can be researched by ebay's logs that I dont have access to. 

We have to go through our "unsold" list and see which products still have inventory and then see if these are duplicate listings. If there arent any dups then we should relist and keep notes/screenshots on when it was relisted and QTY for future reference.  

We also discussed the feature of keeping a listing open when the item is out of stock so that we can add when more inventory comes in. This would prevent items showing as ended. So with this we also need to keep an eye on unsold / ended listings to make sure that items with inventory isn't appearing as ended. 

So we have to take extra steps daily to monitor this and reach out to ebay if there are other issues that need to be looked into.

I thought you were complaining about this happening to you.  Your examples are listings from other sellers.  Are you saying all those sellers have this issue?  I'm confused.

This seller is asking for help and as you can see from the confused responses by Powell and Mam, they were confused by the product page redirection to believe the above item numbers are for different sellers when in fact they all belong to the original poster.

Bring back the banner with link to see original listing please!!! This is what, the 4th time we've gone through this? 5th?

Hi @moodomedia . Thanks for providing those links. We can see the items did end with stock still available.

If this is an eBay error then you'll have to keep working with eBay CS as I can't see anything public-facing that would cause this and I have not heard reports from other users.

About the only things I can suggest are to check things on your end. For example, do you use third party order fulfillment or listing software that could be interfering? Frequently when oddball issues come up it's because of third party software interfering. Do you have staff that fills orders and maybe your staff is erroneously ending listings? Anything you can check on your end - do it.

Please do post if you learn more from working with eBay. If someone else faces this problem, learning from your experience could help us to help them.
